It's good actually. I would like to thank that campus because they were welcomed very well. And the campus infrastructure is very good. There is no entrance exam for joining this campus. But mandatory that we have passed the higher secondary exam and the cut-off percentage should be above 80%. Applications are available in the online portal of the official college website.

The placements are not always equal to all departments like food technology department gets the most placements and biotechnology and other departments almost get no placements. The new management is doing a lot to improve the placement program.
The entire admission process is online and the candidate's presence is needed only when their seat in the university is confirmed. The application form and the dates related are posted on their official website. It is difficult to get into agriculture or horticulture unless you have marks above 185 of 200. The other departments are easier to get there are some reservations for the physically challenged, industrial quota, and NRI quota. The admission process can be made faster because they always wait until the neet results are published.

Read Full ReviewBoth TNAU and TANUVAS are relatively similar institutions because they are state-run universities. There is no major difference between the two universities in terms of their infrastructure and faculty members.
However, when compared on higher levels, then TNAU can be considered slightly better than TANUVAS, regardless of their resemblance in academic profiles.
Categories | Food Technology at TNAU |
Course Fee | 4.64 lakhs |

Having said that, it is always a better idea to try for other institutes like CFTRI, IIFPT, or NIFTEM for receiving better exposure, alongside a greater knowledge base.
As per the recent cutoff trends, a cut-off of about 190 and above is best to get shortlisted for a B.Sc Agri course at TNAU.
If not, there are different other courses, with a somewhat similar backdrop, like horticulture, forestry, home science, food science, agribusiness management, and more, that require a relatively lower cutoff, as opposed to Agricultural Sciences.
Also, there are various other colleges affiliated under TNAU with required cutoffs lower than the former.
According to the recent trends, the required 12th cutoff for TNAU Coimbatore is around 185+. The cutoff varies each year based on the number of applicants and previous years' cutoff.
For Tamil Nadu students, the counseling is based on the marks obtained in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in 10+2. For other state students the admission is done through ICAR - UG entrance examination results.
You need to take TNAU entrance to get admission to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. For UG and PG courses, admission is based on merit. You need to score good marks in the entrance exam, in order to get shortlisted. The required cutoff changes each year based on competition and the number of seats available. TNAU has an NRI quota as well.
TNAU is a top-rated agricultural university and it is the oldest institute established. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) was rated amongst the top 3, followed directly by Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, New Delhi, and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, Punjab.
The main campus of TNAU is located in AC&RI, TNAU, Coimbatore. I have a few friends from TNAU and according to them, TNAU is a university worth studying at. The classes at the institute are usually held between 7.30 P.M to 5.30 P.M. Most essentially, the exposure at the university is largely diversified as well.
Getting a seat in B.Sc. in Agriculture at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is like getting a medical seat in a top university. This is due to the value and demand for agriculture seats increasing.
Having a few friends studying in TNAU Coimbatore here are a few things they mentioned.
In addition to these nearly 26 private agriculture colleges are there in Tamil Nadu, affiliated with TNAU, here students can get seats through counseling by TNAU and management quota where cut-off marks will not form a major role.
You should choose a BS in Agribusiness Management at TNAU. It offers great career prospects in the field of Agriculture. TNAU placements of recent years have witnessed an average CTC of INR 4.5 LPA. ITC, HDFC, Paper Boat, etc. are among the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive. Return on investment is decent.
The cut-off you require mostly depends upon the course you are intending to pursue, your community (presuming your home state is Tamil Nadu itself) or ICAR exam score, and category.
On a general note, usually securing an average of about 190 or more will supposedly keep you on the safer side to help obtain admission in any course of the institute. For more information about the UG course, you can follow the official website.
Having known the alumni at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here are a few things I got to know from them that might answer your question.
