Course Details

Kalasalingam University has begun the registration process for candidates seeking admission in the B.Arch program. The deadline to fill the application form is June 30. The admission to the B.Arch program is based on NATA which is conducted twice a year by NIASA. Kalasalingam University also accepts the score of the JEE-Aptitude test of Architecture which is also known as JEE Main paper 2 conducted by the NTA.

B.Arch is a full time, 5-year UG program offered by the Kalasalingam University consisting of 10 semesters and 90 working days
In all semesters the students are given a plethora of skill-based and theory-based elective subjects to choose from according to their desire.

Kalasalingam University B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have an aggregate of 50% marks in Higher Secondary (+2) or equivalent with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

The candidate must have an aggregate of 50% marks in 10+3 Diploma (in any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments.

The candidate must have an aggregate of 50% marks in International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination.
The candidate must have valid NATA scores.
The candidate must have passed the JEE-Aptitude test in Architecture.

NATA 2024

NATA is conducted twice a year by the NIASA and the eligibility criteria to appear for NATA 2024 have been revised as any candidate who has passed in 10+2/10+3 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be eligible to appear for the exam.

The Exam Pattern of the examination for 2024 has been revised and is as follows -:

NATA is a computer-based test and will be conducted in 1 session.
The exam would consist of 125 questions carrying 1, 2, or 3 marks amounting to a total of 180 marks. The questions can be related to Diagrammatic Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Inductive Reasoning, Situational Judgment, Logical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning.

How to Apply for NATA?

The application form would be available on the official website or click on NATA Registration 2024
The applicant will have to sign up by filling in the basic details such as father’s name, mother’s name, mobile number and choosing the desired password. After submitting the details, a unique 8-digit Application number will be generated. This application number along with the password will be used further for login purposes.
The applicant will have to log in using the previously generated application number along with the password. The application form for NATA 2024 will open.
The application form is divided into 7 sections mainly- Personal details, Choice of examination Centre, Choice of First and Second test, Details of 10 or equivalent examination, Details of post 10/12/diploma examination, Communication Address and finally setting up a security question and a new password.
After filling in all the information, the students are required to upload the necessary documents.
After uploading all the necessary scanned documents, students are required to pay the application fee using Credit Card/Debit Card or Net Banking. The application fee for the students differs based on the category the student belongs to.
After successful completion of the payment, download or print the confirmation page for further use.

JEE Main Paper

JEE MAIN conducted by the NTA is being conducted in 4 sessions for 2024. The sessions for April and May have been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic and new dates will be soon released by the NTA 15 days before the commencement of the exam. The total duration of the JEE Main exam is 3 hours. For MCQ type (+4) is rewarded for every correct answer and (-1) for every incorrect answer. For the non-MCQ type, (+4) is rewarded for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for this type of question.

How to Apply for JEE Main?

The application form would be available on the official website of the JEE Main.
The applicant will have to register by filling in the basic details such as father’s name, mother’s name, mobile number along with demographic details. The applicant also has to choose the desired security question and a password. After submitting the details, a unique 12-digit Application number will be generated. This application number along with the password will be used further for login purposes.
The applicant will have to log in using the previously generated application number along with the password. The application form for JEE Main will open.
The application form is divided into 7 sections mainly- Personal details and demographic details, Choice of course that the applicant is applying for and examination Centre, Choice of First and Second test, Educational Qualifications, Parent’s Income details. After filling the form with the necessary information, the applicant can submit the form.
After filling in all the information, the students are required to upload the necessary documents.
After uploading all the necessary scanned documents, students are required to pay the application fee using SBI/Canara Bank/HDFC Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit Card/Credit Card / Net Banking/UPI and save the payment receipt. The application fee for the students differs based on the category the student belongs to.
After successful completion of the payment, download or print the confirmation page for further use.

How to apply for Kalasalingam University B.Arch?

The admission to the B.Arch course of Kalasalingam University will be done through the registration process in online mode.
Visit the official website of Kalasalingam University to apply for the registration process. You can also click Registration 2024
Click on “new register” and select the Applicant category along with providing basic details like name, date of birth, Email ID and phone number.
After the registration process, the login details will be sent to the email ID provided by the candidate. Use it to log in to the admission portal and the application form for admission 2024 will be provided to the applicant.
Fill the application form by providing the demographic details, educational qualifications and necessary documents.
The candidate then will have to pay the application fee of INR 600 using net banking/ debit card/credit card/ after which the Application form will be submitted. The applicant can also pay through offline mode by making a Demand Draft of INR 650 in favour of “Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education” payable at Rajapalayam. The applicant paying through DD will then have to upload the payment receipt after which the application form will be submitted.
After submitting the application form, make sure to download the confirmation form and payment receipt for further use.

Kalasalingam University B.Arch Course Details

The curriculum of B.Arch offered by Kalasalingam University is divided into 5 categories.

I am not sure how Kalasalingam University's education, faculty, facilities, and placements are. There are numerous options available, but if you must select between Bharat University and Veltech University, both are excellent in every way.

Whether it's about facilities, faculty, college and hostel life, security, food, Campus, Placements, and so on. You will not be sorry if you chose any of them. And, as I previously stated, these are engineering colleges, so you will learn a great deal.

The best thing is that you'll be interacting with people from all over India. Every single student from around the state is going to be on your campus. As a result, educate yourself and improve.

Kalasalingan University is average at best. You won’t get any advanced material for learning. A few of the department has well-experienced faculties. However, most of the faculties are freshers. According to the recent highlights, Kalasalingam University placement scenario is decent. The average CTC offered at the campus placement is 4.50 LPA. The hostel accommodation is not up to the mark, especially the boy’s hostel. The wifi connection on campus has restrictions on many useful pages.

A few of my friends graduated from Kalasalingam University. According to them, the college offers decent academics and infrastructural facilities.

The college is accredited by UGC. Teaching is mostly examination-oriented.
Classes and examinations are conducted on time. You will need to maintain 80% attendance to sit in the examination.
Most faculties are friendly.
In college premises, students need to maintain proper dressing. Wearing jeans isn’t allowed for both boys and girls. Girls are only allowed to wear churidar and shawl.
The hostel accommodation is decent. The 1st year hostels are separate. Hostel rooms have an occupancy of 3 people. The rooms have all basic amenities. The rooms and washrooms are well-maintained and cleaned regularly. Food offered at the mess is decent.

One of my friends studied at Kalasalingam University. According to him the college was average but it had several improvements too, but still the institute did not change as expected. There are many things problematic with the college, these include:

The overall infrastructure of the campus is fine, but the hostels are not well maintained.
The rooms are not hygienic enough and there is always a scarcity of pure drinking water.
The food offered in the mess is also not hygienic nor healthy.
The washrooms are not cleaned regularly.
There is also a scarcity of bathing water.
No mobiles are allowed inside the campus. Laptops can be used only for educational purposes before the classes start or post 8 PM.
To reach your block you have to walk for almost 2 kilometers.
Security in the hostels are bad, often things go missing.
Communication skills of professors are too bad, which is a very bad influence on the students.

Therefore, it is suggested that you do not consider this institution for your studies, as it offers a very bad environment which can impact a student’s intellectual growth.

The reviews of the students are not usually bad. But when you compare Kalasalingam University to other more established universities, it lags a bit behind in the college rankings. But the college rankings are not given by students, so their views vary.

This college really has good facilities, a huge library, green campus, etc. They also have a well experienced and highly cooperative faculty. The college might have some faults which is why the NIRF ranking is not good. But other than that it is quite a good college with sufficient amenities.

The Kalasalingam University hostel facilities are good. For boys, there are regular hostels and pg hostels. For girls, there are only regular hostels. Rooms have an occupancy of 2 to 4. There are a limited number of rooms with attached bathrooms.

Food offered in mess is average. You will get to choose between regular South Indian Food and North Indian food. Water is a major issue sometimes. There are even days when the whole campus runs out of water.

According to the reviews online, Ramco Institute of Technology (RIT) is said to be better than Kalasalingam University.

Here are some reasons why:

RIT has good infrastructure and provides all the necessary facilities to the students.
They have a well experienced faculty.
They have proper laboratories with all the updated machinery.
Students here have to maintain discipline, wear formals and follow the dress code. It is a very strict college.
The placements are also better here than Kalasalingam.

The most visited companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra. They are usually the mass recruiters. They offer an average salary package of 3.5 LPA to the students.

But on a side note, never keep your expectations high as very few students receive good job offers. TCS recruited more than 50 graduates consisting of engineering students and some other graduates.

The placements are said to have improved but not much. After TCS, a lot of IT companies visit like Mindtree, IBM, etc. But they do not offer a decent salary.

Overall, Kalasalingam University is good considering educational facilities, infrastructure, faculties, examinations, sports activities, cultural activities, hostel facilities, hostel mess facilities, University cafeteria and the very welcoming crowd.
