Course Description

Application form and Prospectus for M.Phil. (FT/PT) and Ph.D. (FT/PT) programs can be downloaded from the Bharathiar University’s official website. Here are the steps to download the application form:

Go to the official website of Bharathiar University. (Link Above)
Click on ‘Academic’ tab and click on ‘Research Programs’.
Now, click on the form that you need to download.
The form will open in a pdf format, save it and take a print out of it.
Finally, fill the form carefully after going through all the instructions.

Cost of Application for M.Phil. - Rs.500/-
Cost of Application for Ph.D. - Rs. 600/-

Payment Methods:

The above said application fees payable in the form of Demand Draft (from any nationalized bank) / Challan (Bank of India) shall be drawn in favor of the ‘The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore’ and made payable in ‘Coimbatore’.(Name of the candidate should be furnished at the back side of the DD).

Note:

If a candidate applies for more than one college, he/she has to pay the cost of application Rs.500/- for M.Phil. And Rs.600/- for Ph.D. program for each application.
The Application form consists of two copies (First Copy and Second Copy).

For admission to university departments:

First copy (without any enclosures) has to be sent to The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and second copy (all attested Xerox copies of testimonials from 10th standard onwards along with original Demand Draft) has to be sent to the HOD of the concerned Department of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46.

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to 3-year Full-time Ph.D. Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement:

A candidate having a minimum 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility) marks in the master degree

One of my friends studied at Bharathiar University (BU). According to him, if you can study on your own without the regular guidance of teachers, you can opt for BU.

Here if you want to learn something, you have to do it for yourself, as the faculty members wont guide you step by step. BU has a huge library from which you can get the required study materials. So if you are someone who does not require a methodical guidance and can learn on your own, BU will be fine for you.

If you are planning to pursue a B.Com degree after completing IPCC, it is suggested you do it through IGNOU.

It provides exemptions in certain subjects for those who have completed CA-IPCC through a special agreement with ICAI. Madras University also offers the same.

Though you also have to submit assignments when you do it from IGNOU and you can get B.Com there in the first year.

Admission to PG courses is either based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or performance in the entrance test. The respective departments conduct the entrance tests.
