PVKN Govt Degree College, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh is granted affiliation by the Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. The college was inaugurated by Sanjeevaiah, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP, Sri Govindarajulu Naidu, in the presence of former Vice-Chancellor of S. V. University, Tirupati, Sri Govindarajulu Naidu. The college offers evening courses along with day courses for the convenience of the in-service employees who desire to meet their educational needs. The college was earlier known as ‘Government Arts and Science College’. It was renamed as PVKN Govt. College in 1981-82 in the memory of Sri Papudesi Venkata Krishnama Naidu (PVKN), who was a philanthropist and the founder president of the college committee. Earlier, the college provided just degree courses, but began offering Post Graduate courses beginning from the academic year 2001-02.
