Course Details

Annamalai University M.Ed admission 2023 is open now. The last date to apply has been extended to June 30, 2023. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website – annamalaiuniversity.ac.in. M.Ed is a 2-year program offered by the Department of Education at AU. Applicants with 50% aggregate in B.Ed/ B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed degree under the CBCS, are eligible to apply for the program. SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other applicable categories will have relaxation as per Tamil Nadu’s regulations. Candidates are selected on a merit basis and through a selection test conducted by Annamalai University. The candidates qualifying for the selection test are called for a personal interview before the final counselling.

Annamalai University M.Ed Course Details

The minimum duration of the course is two years ( four semesters).
The maximum duration to complete the M.Ed program is 04 years.
The medium of instruction of the course is English.
The total intake for M.Ed students is 50.
Students need to complete 100 credits including a research dissertation to get the degree.
The course structure has a field visit of 20 hours to practice teaching under supervision.
Applicants will have to appear for a Selection Test for admission to AU M.Ed program.
Students need to pay INR 46,210 and INR 43,500 towards tuition fee for the first and second year respectively.
Various scholarships and fee waivers are available for students belonging to backward classes and impaired students.

Candidates are required to have at least 50% aggregate marks in B.Ed/ B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed degree under the CBCS (choice based credit system) from Annamalai University or a degree exam in the education of any other recognized university.
The candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD and other categories are provided relaxation in the criteria as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Government.

Annamalai University M.Ed Admission Criteria

Applicants will be selected on the basis of merit. Merit will be determined by considering the last qualifying examination, selection test and an interview to be conducted by the university.

How to Apply?

Visit the official website of the University.
Click on the ‘Admissions- On campus’ tab. A new page will open.
Click on ‘Applications- Online’ option & click on ‘B.Ed/M.Ed’ option.
The official portal for the B.Ed/M.Ed admissions will open.
Click on the one that indicates ‘M. Ed Degree Programme’. A form will appear.
Add all the required information such as your name, email address, Date of Birth etc. along with a password and create your login credentials.
Pay the application fees of INR 1000 through net banking/debit/credit card.
Download and send the hard copy of the application form to the official address of Annamalai University by post.

Counselling Process

Candidates are called for the counselling process based on their performance in the entrance test and the personal interview. Candidates are required to be present with all the required original certificates and documents at the time of admissions. Once all the documents are verified at the administrative office at Annamalai University, the candidates are required to pay the respective fees to confirm their seat.

Annamalai University M.Ed Course Details

Course Structure and Degree Requirements

The two-year M.Ed program at Annamalai University is divided into 04 semesters.
The maximum duration to complete the M.Ed program is four years.
The total number of credits of the course including the research dissertation is 100.
Field-based experience for 20 hours related to supervisor and evaluation of practice teaching in B.Ed.programme will be done by every candidate during the third semester.
Every candidate is required to submit a research proposal in the 1st semester of their course.
In the 3rd semester of the program, students get a chance to get into the field and practice teaching students under supervision.
Students should submit the thesis by 30th May of the fourth semester.
A viva-voce is also conducted after 3 months of submission of the research thesis.
A student is passed if he/she obtains at least 45% in the thesis in the external examination and at least 50% in the aggregate of the Thesis and Viva-voce, internal and external examinations.

Scholarships Offered

Students applying for admissions in the M.Ed course at Annamalai University can apply for government scholarships, subject to eligibility. Some of the scholarships are mentioned below:

Post Matric Scholarship: Provided to students belonging to SC/ST communities whose guardians income of all sources does not extend INR 2, 50,000 per annum. The scholarship covers special fees, maintenance charges and examination fees.
Higher Education Special Scholarship: This scholarship is an addition to the post-matric scholarship. The hostel students belonging to SC/ST communities can avail this scholarship.
Application Fee Concession to SC/ST and Converted Christian Students: Application fee concession is granted to SC/ST and converted Christian students by the Tamil Nadu Govt.
Tuition Fee Concession to SC/ST and Converted Christian Students: Complete tuition fee concession is granted to the students belonging to SC/ST and converted Christian communities under rule 92 of Tamil Nadu Education Rules.
BC/MBC/DNC Scholarship: This scholarship is granted to the students belonging to BC/MBC/DNC communities provided their guardian’s annual income of all sources does not exceed INR 2, 00,000.
Fee Concession to Blind/ Visually Impaired Students: Under rule 92 of Tamil Nadu Education Rules, a full fee concession is provided to the blind students whose guardian’s annual income does not exceed INR 24,000.

You can get your degree certificate from Annamalai University by following the below steps. Fill in the Convocation form which is available on the official website. Attach your provisional certificate and final year marksheet with the form. You need to pay a convocation fee as well. Send it to the Controller of Examination, Annamalai University. For any help regarding this, you can contact your college as well.

Annamalai University offers a variety of 457 courses across 17 streams. The college offers UG, PG, Diploma courses, and Ph.D. under various departments, such as Department of Engineering & Technology, Arts, Agriculture, Dentistry, Medicine, Fine Arts, Marine Sciences. NIRF ranked the university 92nd overall, in the country last year. The college also offers various courses in distance mode. Fee Structure- Since it is a state Institution, the fee is very low as compared to other top institutes. The fee charged for some of the courses is as follows- B.Sc.- 25,570/year M.Sc.- 36,450/year MBA- 56,450/year Ph.D.- 38,400/year B.Ed.- 42,000/year Campus life- International workshops, State level sports even and Cultural programs are conducted in the college. The college also provides facilities like wi-fi, library, medical facilities, food and accommodation etc. Internships- The college also provides internship opportunities and scholarships to the deserving students. The students are selected on the basis of their merit. Faculty- There are more than 100 lecturers in the university and most of them are Ph.D. scholars and have an expert background. Placements- The students are considered for the participation for the placement drives on the basis of their academic records. As per the latest records, the average salary offered was around 2.5 LPA, the lowest was 2 LPA and the highest was 10 LPA. How can I get transcripts from Annamalai University?

The best possible way to get transcripts is to visit the university and apply for it. A friend of mine strongly suggested not to apply through any middle agents or online transcript agencies. You can send in a representative with a letter of authorization provided by the candidate. The complete process takes a couple of days. Once you have arrived at the university then go to the examination office for further direction. You will need copies of: Marksheets Consolidated Marksheet (if any) Provisional Degree Certificate Degree Certificate Payment Receipt The cost of the transcripts is around Rs.3500 including the courier charges. However, if you wish to inquire at the front office as they will guide better regarding the required fee and other procedures. They would also give you a form to be filled with all the details. You will be advised to go to a browsing centre to do the payment from the university staff. So, do the payment via a computer rather than the phone. Here are the steps that would help you make payments online: Open the university website, go to the examinations, fees, other miscellaneous fees. You will have to enter the amount and pay for it online. However, the payment would be slow and it would go through. If you don't get the acknowledgment slip then simply enter the enrollment number again and click on acknowledge and one will get the receipt and take a printout of that slip. Once the payment is done then you need to go to an officer for the seal and stamp. Then you will be asked to meet the Chief examinations officer for documents verification. After all this work, the work at the university is done. Put all the documents in an envelope and seal it as per the requirements and the university itself would courier it to the required personal. The university provides a telephone number that you can use to call them to get the tracking number. However, the calls do not get answered. My personal advice would be to go to the university as it works faster. Try to arrive early as it will fasten up your process. Do not approach any middle man or any other online transcript services as the University has strict rules regarding it and they do not acknowledge it.
