Sikkim University is a central university located in Gangtok. Established in 2007, the university is recognised by the UGC and ranked 151 among top 2000 universities in NIRF 2023 rankings. The permanent campus of Sikkim University is built at Yangang in Namchi district, about 56 km from Gangtok.

Sikkim University Admission
Sikkim University admissions are completely online. Candidates seeking admission to UG and PG programs must appear for the CUET UG and CUET PG examinations, respectively. Registrations for admission at Sikkim University usually start after result declaration of the CUET examination in the month of June or July. Shortlisted students based on the CUET scores will get the call letter for the Counseling session. Sikkim University Scholarship
Sikkim University provides scholarships for students enrolled with financially weak family backgrounds. To get the scholarship, eligible students have to apply the prescribed form along with their parent’s income certificate to the office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW). Foreign students are not eligible for this scholarship.

Ans. Sikkim University gives relaxation to reserved categories such as SC/ST students. Students belonging from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes get 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria. Moreover, seat relaxation will be given according to the Sikkim High Court order of 2016, to ST, SC, OBC and Unreserved students. Additionally, students belonging to physical disability get 10% seat reservation in every course and class.
