My experience to the Sikkim university.

- Teachers are friendly, department gives a very friendly atmosphere.
- They give admission to less amount of students, so they can see/observe each and every students specifically.
- The teaching style of teachers are very effective.
Dislikes
- Campus issue is the biggest problem of this sikkim university, due to which students may suffer too.
- Sikkim university has no campus, that's thr thing i don't like about it.
- Due to no campus, students of different departments might not know each other.
Remarks :
So, i chose this university, because here the merit list was out in advance from other universities, and in NEHU i did not got selected, and in Assam university the selection list came out little late. In NEHU i didn't get because my mark was not thar much, but in Sikkim university i got in First merit list itself that's too in unreserved category though i belong from ST. So you have to give CUET, it's the first thing, as it is central university, cut off marks changes every year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Because i felt sociology subject interesting in my UG and it interpret to almost all the social sciences like political, economic, education etc, it's very interesting subject. The subject itself talks about the society, it gives you indepth knowledge about the society, it develops thinking capacity to look the world differently from the normal people. Finals are held on mostly on December and July. In 4th semester i think they should hv kept dissertation paper optional, but here you have to do it, compulsory.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The sikkim university is very cost friendly, for the admission you have to pay Rs5000 for the course for Sociology, and in second semester you don't have to pay for anything, in 3rd semester you have to pay a little amount like Rs2500/3000 , and in fourth semester you don't have to pay any, so yeah, sikkim university is very student friendly in term for admission. And it provides scholarshipa too.
Campus Life :
As it lack of campus, we can't do much activities, but there it held every year sports week. University has a centrak library where you cab find mostly all sort of academic books . Each Class rooms/departments has a smart board, attached bathrooms to the rooms, and a filter. Yes, some students run the clubs like chess clubs, quiz groups, debate groups etc.
Faculty :
Faculty member of Sociology department are friendly, if any issue you're facing, you can just go to there cabin and talk to them, or you cab just text them, they don't mind it. So, i exam pattern is like, 50 marks goes from sessionals and 50 mark is from Finals, so both sessional and finals are important. Some students flunked too, that's why it is very important that you do well in sessionals too.
