Selection to UG and PG programs is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
Selection to 75% seats in B.Tech is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and to the remaining 25% seats, admission is done on the basis of JEE Main score.
Admission to M.Tech is done on the basis of merit for 75% seats and for the remaining 25% seats, admission is done through a GATE score.
Selection to the PhD program is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination, entrance test and interview conducted by the university.
For MBA, candidates with CAT/MAT/CMAT scores are preferred for admission.

The university offers M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The university also offers Integrated M.Tech in two specializations.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Scholarship: The University awards Sri Guru Granth Sahib Scholarships to 10% needy and meritorious students who might not be financially equipped to pursue higher education.
Minority Community Scholarships: It is a scholarship which is a centrally sponsored scheme for meritorious students who belong to minority students (Sikh, Muslim, Christian, Buddhists and Parsis).
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste Students: It is centrally sponsored scheme under which students with Punjab Domicile belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for other Backward Class Students: It is centrally sponsored scheme under which students with Punjab Domicile belonging to backward/ other backward classes.
