Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana is the oldest university in the field of Agricultural Education. It was established in 1962. It offers UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in different specializations. Application forms can be filled online or can be obtained in person or by post.

PAU Ludhiana conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) followed by counselling to offer admission in B.Sc (Hons.) courses except for B.Sc (Architecture/ Fashion Designing).
Candidates have to appear in the national level Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) to secure admission in B.Sc (Architecture) program.
For B.Sc in Fashion Designing, the candidates have to appear in Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID.
B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc admissions are also based on the score in CET except for B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering for which a valid score in JEE Main is mandatory.
For M.Tech, MBA, MCA (Regular+Lateral), MJMC and M.Sc courses, PAU conducts MET followed by an interview.
Ph.D. admission is based PAU Written Test and Interview. Although, ICAR qualified candidates are directly eligible for the interview round.

PAU Ludhiana B.Sc & B.Tech Admission 2023

PAU serves various undergraduate programs such as B.Sc and B.Tech in various specializations. Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (Hons.) need to appear in CET conducted by PAU except for B.Sc in Architecture and Fashion Designing. For B.Sc in Architecture, the candidates have to appear in AAT conducted by IITs.

For B.Sc in Fashion Designing aspiring candidates have to attend DAT conducted by NID which is held specially to determine the design abilities of aspirants.

Key Point: B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture is also offered by Institute of Agriculture, Bathinda and Institute of Agriculture, Gurdaspur. The minimum eligibility is 10+2 with 75% marks in aggregate. Entrance test for these courses will be conducted on June 13, 2021.

PAU Ludhiana PG Admission 2023: M.Tech, MBA. MCA, M.Sc & MJMC

At PG level, PAU offers M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc and MJMC in different disciplines. Apart from regular courses, the university also offers MCA (Lateral Entry) and Integrated M.Sc.

Admission is based on the score in MET conducted by PAU followed by an Interview. Admission to M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS is done on the basis of an interview round for the shortlisted candidates. CET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for Integrated M.Sc program.

Admission to Ph.D. is based on the Written Test conducted by PAU and Interview. The minimum eligibility criteria is Master’s degree in the relevant discipline form a recognized university.

ICAR qualified candidates are directly eligible for admission to any Bachelor’s/ Master’s or Ph.D. program. Such candidates have to provide their testimonials at the time of Interview/ Counselling.

Fill the application form and pay the application fee of INR 5320 by Credit/ Debit Card or through Net-Banking or Challan.

IGIT Sarang is one of the best government colleges in Orissa. It is also only one government college of Orissa that is eligible to submit an Institutional Development Proposal. The admission process for Electrical Engineering is based on the results of JEE mains and Orissa-JEE.

Punjab Agriculture University holds #51 rank among universities in India issued by NIRF ranking, 2019. Admission for B. Tech in agriculture is wholly based on the results of JEE mains followed by interviews and counseling. The placement rate is also good for this university.

Admission process

B.Tech in Metallurgy at IGIT Sarang

Admissions are based on the results of JEE mains or OJEE valid rank followed by interviews and counseling.
With this students are also required to have at least 45% in 10+2 with required subjects(Physics and mathematics should be primary subjects).

B.Tech in Agriculture at PAU

The application process is fully online with an application fee of 610 INR.
Admissions for Agricultural Engineering are only based on the rank of JEE mains followed by interviews and counseling.

Companies like Ananda, Bhushan Steel, Infosys, Kanbay international, Larsen and Toubro, Satyam Computers, TATA Consultancy Services, Visa Steel, etc visit the campus every year in search of good placements.
The average salary offered to students is 4 lakhs and the highest salary package is up to 10 lakhs.

Punjab Agricultural University

Companies like Aries Agro, Chambal Fertilizers, CMC, IFFCO, Jain irrigation, Kirloskar, Nestle, New Holland, NSM, etc visit every year for placements.
The average package offered for this course is 4.2 lakhs and the highest is up to 7 lakhs.

Both IGIT SARANG and Punjab agricultural university are equally good for both the courses. Both have good teaching facilities and good infrastructure. The environment of both Institutes is very friendly and engaging. Placements are available. But if we talk about the university in which we can get admission easily then IGIT Sarang is there as about 120 seats are available for this course and if we see the Punjab university then there are only 8 seats available.
