LPU M.Com Course

The M.com program at LPU is a two-year course divided into two parts: Foundation Courses and Core Courses. While the foundation course aims at building the base of the student, the core courses are more practical and industry-oriented. There are various optional subjects available in M.Com where students can choose up to 4 electives in the 2 years of study.

Students get the opportunity to do an internship in top firms after 1st year of study. Students also get an opportunity to go abroad to study for the next year with an option to go for a 4-week study tour in foreign like the USA/ European countries or any other country as decided by the University.

LPU M.Com Eligibility Criteria

M.Com (Regular): A graduate degree with 50% aggregate marks from disciplines of Commerce or Management or Accounts or Economics or equivalent from a government-recognized university. Additionally, an LPUNEST score is also required by an individual to get admission.
Online M.Com (Distance Education): Graduation in the relevant stream from a recognized university.

LPU M.Com Application Process

Interested candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for M.Com admission at LPU Punjab:

Step 1: Sign Up

Register onto LPU ADMIT with your basic details like (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password). Your email ID will then act as your username for the portal and the password will be set by you while registering on the portal.
You will then receive a mail from LPU on your registered email ID regarding this.
Login to the LPU ADMIT with an already created username/ password

Step 2: LPUNEST Registration

LPUNEST is the online test that serves as the gateway to programs you are interested in. Admission to this programme is done based on performance in LPUNEST. In addition, LPUNEST will also act as a Scholarship test and students can avail themselves of huge scholarships based on performance in this test.

Deposit the test fee:
- The cost of the Application form and Soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit is INR 1000 (Male applicant) and INR 500 (Female applicant).
- The cost of the Application form and Printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1500 (Male applicant) and INR 1000 (Female applicant).
Fill out the test application form.

Step 3: Book the Exam Slot and Appear

Book the time slot (preferred date and time) to appear in the Online Remotely Proctored LPUNEST Exam.
Appear and qualify for the exam.

Step 5: Admission

Deposit initial payment of INR 10000. After the successful payment, a unique provisional registration no. will be generated and sent to your registered Email ID.
Upload the documents like a Recent Photograph, Matriculation Marksheet, Qualifying exam Certificate/ Marksheet, previous qualifications exam certificate/ mark sheet (if applicable) and Address Proof.
Apply for residential/ mess/ transportation/ parking facility as per the requirement.
All the submitted documents are to be verified from the originals within the prescribed timelines.

Lovely Professional University is pretty good in all aspects such as academics, infrastructure, faculty, ranking, etc.

LPU has a brilliant faculty base. Most of the faculty members are alumni of IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc.
The institute has a good placement record. LPU placements 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 42 LPA. Major MNCs like Godrej Consumer, CEAT, Allianz, Hindustan Unilever, etc. visit the campus placement.
LPU has a good ecosystem for entrepreneurship as well. If you have a good idea, you can get seed funding from the institute.
All basic amenities are available on campus. You won’t need to go out to get anything. The campus has a central library, a shopping mall, indoor sports facilities, public and private sector banks, ATMs, etc.

LPU is one of the best private universities in the country. You can benefit a lot from attending the institute.

No, these universities almost have zero credibility. You have to realize the fact that the main goal of these big universities is to make money.

I have heard a lot of reviews from my friends who studied at these universities. Following are lesser-known facts about these universities:

During the admission, you will be told about the institute and will be assured about top-class facilities including AC in your classrooms. When you get allured in, you will face reality. Your expectations will be barely met.
Most of the teaching faculties are newly appointed with most of them having no experience in teaching at all. Most of them will vanish after that semester and again, new faculties are appointed.
Attendance criteria is very strict and teachers' way to control students. Even if you are five minutes late to the class, talking in class, or unable to answer a question in class, you are marked absent.
There is no particular format for allotting the internal assessment or Semester end exam marks. If teachers are not that fond of you, you are definitely going to have a tough time here.
Making students reappear in their exams is a new scheme of making money for these institutes. Whenever the results are out, around 80% of the class is going to fail in one or more papers. To reappear for one paper, you have to pay 5-8K.
Fee demand is very high and ROI is very low, due to which the number of students drop out every year.
You will be judged in every aspect, based on what you are wearing, that too if you are a girl. You will be sent back to hostels.

Overall it's a no-brainer to avoid attending these institutes. Paying so much when you are getting so little in return, makes literally no sense at all. So think twice before opting for any of these institutes.

Compared to Amity Noida, LPU is better in terms of placements, infrastructure, and campus life. Each year more than 500+ national and international companies visit LPU placements. Microsoft, Adobe, and Amazon are some of the major recruiters. During the 2021 placement drive, the highest CTC offered was INR 42 LPA.

You can avail all the facilities on the university campus itself. There are central libraries, hospital facilities, indoor sports stadium, shopping mall, and ATMs.

Firstly, if you haven’t been able to get into Lovely Professional University, don’t get discouraged. Getting into IIMs is also a privilege. You can land decent jobs even as an IIM graduate. So just settle for the best IIM and achieve your goals.

But if you still think with one more chance you can ace the entrance exam of LPU, then take a dropout year and prepare well for it. It will be a year full of struggles but you will have to deal with it with the right spirit. Who knows you might actually get into LPA this time and fulfill your dream.

Uttar Pradesh Technical University:

Pros-

Extremely affordable. It's a government university so the only relaxation is fees.
Better placement opportunities

Cons-

Education tactics adopted are old school.
The structure of exams is below average
Bad internet facilities
The compulsory attendance rules do not let you conduct research.

Lovely Professional University:

Pros-

A large-scale advertisement which is not of much use to an engineer

Chandigarh University is the better choice among these two.

CU has a great pool of teachers. The faculties are well-experienced. You can also ask for their help any time you need it.
The management on campus is great. It is one of the safest campuses in North India. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus.
Chandigarh University Placement - CU is conducting its 2022 placement drive. More than 757 recruiters have made around 7500 placement offers. The highest CTC offered this year is 52.11 LPA.

But CU has a strict 75% attendance policy. You will need to attend classes regularly, as there is no poxy policy.
