LPU BHMCT Course

Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) program at LPU Jalandhar is ideal for students looking for specialized hospitality degrees with global recognition. This is a 4 Year programme which consists of 8 semesters. LPU BHMCT Curriculum are as follows:

Foundation Courses that Provide a base for learning the core courses.
Core Courses which Provide a base for learning the basics of the programme.
A set of four elective courses is added to the Curriculum to develop additional skills. Courses can be Chosen from professional enhancement, photography, Management, Animation, Humanities, etc. that are not related to the core discipline of the program.
Summer/Winter School Programmes happen in the summer vacations or winter vacations that offer academic and non-academic courses.
International Credit transfer is also allowed in the LPU BHMCT Programme. Students can be transferred to a foreign partner university after studying generally for half the programme duration at LPU.

Candidates should have passed 10+2 with 50% aggregate marks (with English).

LPU BHMCT Application Process 2024

LPU BHMCT Admission is a four-step process which is mentioned below:

Step 1: Register

Visit the official website of the LPU and register through the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPU ADMIT.
Click the “Apply Now” tab and fill in the basic details like name, email, phone no, gender and password.
Finally, log in to the site with the username and password that you have created.

Step 2: Apply for LPUNEST

LPUNEST is an online eligibility/scholarship test through which the students will be selected for admission and scholarships.
Candidates are required to deposit the test fee.
The application form and a soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit cost INR 1000 (for boys) and INR 500 (for girls).
The cost of the application form and the printed LPUNEST kit is Rs.1500 (for boys) and INR 1000 (for girls).
After that, fill the application form for LPUNEST.

Step 3: Application form

Upload all the documents required.

Lovely Professional University is pretty good in all aspects such as academics, infrastructure, faculty, ranking, etc.

LPU has a brilliant faculty base. Most of the faculty members are alumni of IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc.
The institute has a good placement record. LPU placements 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 42 LPA. Major MNCs like Godrej Consumer, CEAT, Allianz, Hindustan Unilever, etc. visit the campus placement.
LPU has a good ecosystem for entrepreneurship as well. If you have a good idea, you can get seed funding from the institute.
All basic amenities are available on campus. You won’t need to go out to get anything. The campus has a central library, a shopping mall, indoor sports facilities, public and private sector banks, ATMs, etc.

LPU is one of the best private universities in the country. You can benefit a lot from attending the institute.

No, these universities almost have zero credibility. You have to realize the fact that the main goal of these big universities is to make money.

I have heard a lot of reviews from my friends who studied at these universities. Following are lesser-known facts about these universities:

During the admission, you will be told about the institute and will be assured about top-class facilities including AC in your classrooms. When you get allured in, you will face reality. Your expectations will be barely met.
Most of the teaching faculties are newly appointed with most of them having no experience in teaching at all. Most of them will vanish after that semester and again, new faculties are appointed.
Attendance criteria is very strict and teachers' way to control students. Even if you are five minutes late to the class, talking in class, or unable to answer a question in class, you are marked absent.
There is no particular format for allotting the internal assessment or Semester end exam marks. If teachers are not that fond of you, you are definitely going to have a tough time here.
Making students reappear in their exams is a new scheme of making money for these institutes. Whenever the results are out, around 80% of the class is going to fail in one or more papers. To reappear for one paper, you have to pay 5-8K.
Fee demand is very high and ROI is very low, due to which the number of students drop out every year.
You will be judged in every aspect, based on what you are wearing, that too if you are a girl. You will be sent back to hostels.

Overall it's a no-brainer to avoid attending these institutes. Paying so much when you are getting so little in return, makes literally no sense at all. So think twice before opting for any of these institutes.

Firstly, if you haven’t been able to get into Lovely Professional University, don’t get discouraged. Getting into IIMs is also a privilege. You can land decent jobs even as an IIM graduate. So just settle for the best IIM and achieve your goals.

But if you still think with one more chance you can ace the entrance exam of LPU, then take a dropout year and prepare well for it. It will be a year full of struggles but you will have to deal with it with the right spirit. Who knows you might actually get into LPA this time and fulfill your dream.

Pros-

Extremely affordable. It's a government university so the only relaxation is fees.

Cons-

Chandigarh University is the better choice among these two.

CU has a great pool of teachers. The faculties are well-experienced. You can also ask for their help any time you need it.
The management on campus is great. It is one of the safest campuses in North India. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus.
Chandigarh University Placement - CU is conducting its 2022 placement drive. More than 757 recruiters have made around 7500 placement offers. The highest CTC offered this year is 52.11 LPA.

But CU has a strict 75% attendance policy. You will need to attend classes regularly, as there is no poxy policy.
