LPU B.Des Admission 2024 Registration started on October 16, 2023. Admission to B.Des at LPU will be done through the LPUNEST entrance examination. The last date to apply and book a slot for LPUNEST 2024 Phase-I is January 15, 2024. Aspiring candidates can apply online on the official website - admission.lpu.in.

LPU B.Des's total fee is INR 9.60 lakhs to be paid in 8 semesters. The B.Des Fees for each specialization are the same. The semester-wise LPU B.Des fee is as follows:

LPU B.Des Course

Lovely Professional University offers a four-year full-time B.Des degree in five specializations. LPU B.Des course is divided into eight semesters. In addition to this, LPU also offers a B.Des (Lateral) program for the duration of 3 years. LPU offers B.Des to the candidates who have studied previous examinations in English or in the English medium. Candidates belonging to North-East States and Sikkim candidates and defense personnel will get a 5% relaxation. LPU provides international exposure of 4 weeks study tour to the USA or other European countries.

Core Courses: Provides a base for learning the basics in the area you are pursuing B.Des.

LPU B.Des Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for applying to the Lovely Professional University B.Des course, students need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria laid down by the admission authority as given below:

Students must have passed the 10+2 examination with English as one of the subjects or in English medium with at least 50% marks from recognized boards.
5% relaxation is given to candidates belonging to North-East states and Sikkim candidates. Also, defense personnel and Kashmiri migrations are given relaxation.
Candidates are given scholarships on the basis of their performance in the LPUNEST or UCEED entrance exam.
LPU accepts merit in LPUNEST/ UCEED/ NID-UG/ NIFT-UG/ NIFT B.Ftech for giving admission to B.Des programs.

LPU B.Des Admission 2024

Follow the below mentioned are the steps to apply for admission:

Step 1: Signup

Register onto LPUADMIT with basic details (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password). Your email id will act as your username for the portal and the password will be set by you while registering on the portal.
You will get a mail on your registered email id regarding this.
Login to the LPUADMIT with an already created username/ password.

Step 2: Apply for LPUNEST

LPUNEST is an online entrance test conducted to offer admission to programs you are interested in.
Deposit the test fee:
The application form and a soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit cost INR 1000 (for boys) and INR 500 (for girls).
The cost of the application form and the printed LPUNEST kit is INR 1500 (for boys) and INR 1000 (for girls).
Fill out the test application form.

Step 3: Book the exam slot

Book the slot (preferred date and time) to appear in the LPUNEST Exam.
Appear and qualify for the exam.

Step 4: Result and Seat Allotment (Online Counselling)

Get your scorecard/ rank.
Download the allotment letter and proceed for admission within 7 days after the declaration of the result.

Step 5: Admission

Deposit initial payment of INR 10,000. After the successful realization of the payment.
A Provisional Registration Number will be produced and sent to the email address you provided.
Upload the required documents.
The balance fee must be charged within the university's deadlines.

LPUNEST Exam Pattern

LPUNEST is a Computer-based test that consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions, which are to be solved within 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for every correct answer and every incorrect answer there will be no negative marking. 0 marks are awarded/deducted for unattempted questions. Format of LPUNEST exam will be MCQ based in which for a question four choices are given out of which one is correct. The below-mentioned table shows the name of the sections:

LPU B.Des placement records touched the 100% mark in the 2021-22 placement drive. Some of the leading fashion brands like Reliance Industries Ltd, Khadi India, Under Armour, Kabir Leathers, Hind Rubbers participated in the placement drive. Lovely Professional University is pretty good in all aspects such as academics, infrastructure, faculty, ranking, etc. LPU has a brilliant faculty base. Most of the faculty members are alumni of IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc. The institute has a good placement record. LPU placements 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 42 LPA. Major MNCs like Godrej Consumer, CEAT, Allianz, Hindustan Unilever, etc. visit the campus placement. LPU has a good ecosystem for entrepreneurship as well. If you have a good idea, you can get seed funding from the institute. All basic amenities are available on campus. You won’t need to go out to get anything. The campus has a central library, a shopping mall, indoor sports facilities, public and private sector banks, ATMs, etc. LPU is one of the best private universities in the country. You can benefit a lot from attending the institute.

No, these universities almost have zero credibility. You have to realize the fact that the main goal of these big universities is to make money. I have heard a lot of reviews from my friends who studied at these universities. Following are lesser-known facts about these universities: During the admission, you will be told about the institute and will be assured about top-class facilities including AC in your classrooms. When you get allured in, you will face reality. Your expectations will be barely met. Most of the teaching faculties are newly appointed with most of them having no experience in teaching at all. Most of them will vanish after that semester and again, new faculties are appointed. Attendance criteria is very strict and teachers' way to control students. Even if you are five minutes late to the class, talking in class, or unable to answer a question in class, you are marked absent. There is no particular format for allotting the internal assessment or Semester end exam marks. If teachers are not that fond of you, you are definitely going to have a tough time here. Making students reappear in their exams is a new scheme of making money for these institutes. Whenever the results are out, around 80% of the class is going to fail in one or more papers. To reappear for one paper, you have to pay 5-8K. Fee demand is very high and ROI is very low, due to which the number of students drop out every year. You will be judged in every aspect, based on what you are wearing, that too if you are a girl. You will be sent back to hostels. Overall it's a no-brainer to avoid attending these institutes. Paying so much when you are getting so little in return, makes literally no sense at all. So think twice before opting for any of these institutes.

The management on campus is great. It is one of the safest campuses in North India. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus. Chandigarh University Placement - CU is conducting its 2022 placement drive. More than 757 recruiters have made around 7500 placement offers. The highest CTC offered this year is 52.11 LPA. But CU has a strict 75% attendance policy. You will need to attend classes regularly, as there is no poxy policy.

Major recruiters that visited the placement drive were Infosys, Byjus, Capgemini, Amazon, etc. You should note that in India other than IITs, NITs, or BITS Pilani, the other engineering colleges don’t put that much effort to enhance the skills of the students.
