There are various ways in which a University can be termed bad. According to some of my friends who study there, Pondicherry University is not good due to the following reasons:

Uncooperative Faculty -

• The faculty does not give good internal marks and does not teach the subject in the class for the entire degree duration. 
• More than 60% of faculty doesn’t provide a double-digit score in the internal assessment. 
• Classes are not conducted regularly. It has been seen that they usually taught in 1st year only and you have to study on your own for the remaining time.

Unfair Evaluation- 

• There is no correct answer evaluation at Pondicherry University. The papers are evaluated casually. 
• Deserving students are often failed in the examination due to the carelessness of the teachers.

Last-Minute Decisions - 

• The decisions at Pondicherry University can be taken at any time. 
• There have been many cases where exams get rescheduled without any prior notice. This creates problems for students coming from other states as they have done their flight/train bookings in advance.

These can be the reasons why Pondicherry University is not good. There are a lot of provisions which could be improved. 

Pondicherry University provides a peaceful campus and it is known for its calm atmosphere. It provides many opportunities which may help students to succeed in their careers.

The facilities provided by Pondicherry University include Wi-Fi, Lab Facilities, a Diverse campus, and student community, a Reading hall and library, Interactive Facilities, The campus with bus facilities, and a clean and green campus.

The advantages of studying at Pondicherry University are:

• It promotes research-oriented study.
• You can learn things well and the college is itself study-oriented.
• The sense of satisfaction after the course that the student has learned something and isn’t blank, unlike other institutes.

To grab these advantages, one must take full-profit from the institute and should also take interest in studies.

The after-effects of pursuing a course from Pondicherry University are:

• An experience with millions of stories to share.
• A student who visits any other college in the future will find it unorganized as compared to Pondicherry University.
• For future studies, a student of Pondicherry University will never go to any below-average/average institute.

This would be an improvement in their overall development if a student decides to study at Pondicherry University and always follows the right path.

There are five hostels for women at Pondicherry University. Some are old and some are new. The quality, facilities, standards, décor, etc depends on whether you are getting the new hostels or the old ones. The old ones are being repaired, however, and new hostels for women will be constructed soon. The condition and facilities vary depending on the location of the rooms in a particular hostel.

You will get rooms that will accommodate two or three students including you. You will get utilities like a table, cupboard, bed, fans, etc. Apart from these, you will also get unlimited wifi connection, an area for washing and drying clothes, and drinking water facilities. You can address your grievances to the administrative staff and the office of the warden.

The official website of the university will show you how to get the transcript. Before you apply for the transcript, keep in mind that you must have the original mark sheets for which you need the transcript and how many transcripts you need. Also, do not forget to get photocopies of the mark sheet as they will be your future transcripts.

• After you are done with the online processes, go to the Registrar’s Office which is in the Admin Block. You can get the transcript request form. You can also download it from the website.
• After you get the form, go to the Indian Bank that is in the university that is next to the Admin Block where you have to pay for the transcripts. After the payment, you will be given a challan for the same which you can attach with the transcript.
• With the photocopy of the mark sheets, submit the form with the challan. For verification, you may be asked to produce the original mark sheets.
• The Assistant Registrar signs and stamps each and every copy submitted by you. If you submitted the documents before 12 PM, you might get the transcripts on the same day before 5 PM. If not, then definitely the next day. Get an envelope of good quality for the transcripts as they will be sealed and signed.

Usually, the transcript is a statement of marks in a specific format and is a separate document. In the case of Pondicherry University, though, the mark sheet itself is a transcript. You will get them in two days tops. The procedure can take quite a long time in other places.

The infrastructure of the University of Hyderabad is amazing. It has a good reputation in terms of research activities, the quality of education, placement statistics, inclusivity, etc.

The University of Hyderabad is ranked 4th under the University category and ranked 11th under the overall category by NIRF, Government of India. Its closest competitors are the University of Calcutta and Banaras Hindu University. Pondicherry University has been ranked 36th  internationally among BRICS Nations by QS Ranking and 601-650th in the world by QS.

The highest package offered during the recent placement season at the University of Hyderabad was INR 10 LPA. The top recruiters were Deloitte, CoreCompete, etc. The placement percentage in the last placement drive was 90%.

The highest package offered to the students of Pondicherry University in their recent placement season was INR 10.20 LPA and the average package was INR 3 to 4 LPA. A large percentage of students got recruited from the science departments and the engineering and management departments. The top recruiters are Infosys, Cognizant, Bank of America, Thomas Cook, Accenture, etc.

Both Pondicherry University and Hyderabad University have their advantages so choose according to your convenience.

Pondicherry University is a central university so candidates are attracted from all across the country. The university has students from Chandigarh to Kerala. There are even students from Kashmir. The place is rich in diversity indeed.

Pondicherry University also offers rare courses such as geology and bioinformatics. The place has gained a reputation at a national level and has also received an award for its infrastructure. It is one of the best places where physically challenged students can chase their dreams.

Pondicherry University offers an MBA in various disciplines which are listed below –

• Regular MBA (specializations in HR, Marketing, Finance and Operations)
• MBA Data Analytics (self-financing)
• MBA Tourism & Travel Management
• MBA Banking Technology (IT and Banking specializations)
• MBA Financial Technology
• MBA International Management (Marketing and Finance specializations)
• MBA Insurance Management (Karaikal campus)
• MBA Logistics & Supply Chain Management (self-financing)

Pondicherry University also offers an MBA part-time course which is also a self-financing course offered by the Department of Management Studies. Except for the Department of Tourism Studies, all other departments have lower placement results. However, do not depend on the university for placements. 

In terms of studies, it is good. The fees are quite low compared to private colleges or IIMs. The faculty is really good and the knowledge you can acquire is enormous as well. The only thing that is not good enough is the placements so make your decision wisely.

Some of my friends studied at Pondicherry University. According to them, they offer three Integrated M.Sc programs –

• Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science
• Physics, Chemistry and Applied Geology
• History, Sociology and Political Science

You will have to choose from these three disciplines only and then choose the major subject among them. 

The advantages of the course and university are listed below.

• You can exit the course after three years with a B.Sc degree.
• The syllabus is light even though there are three major subjects and thus you can take up any additional courses you like.
• The university offers freedom in terms of uniform, timetable, and everything else while many of the undergraduate colleges still have school-like rules.
• You can study an undergraduate course from a university which is pretty rare.

Studying 5 years in an Arts stream is difficult and should be reconsidered. The best course is Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Geology. Doing M.Sc in Computer Science is also not a good idea.
