Sambalpur University, located in Orissa state, is featured among Top BBA Colleges in Orissa. The university offers a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) program for a minimum duration of three academic years. Admissions to the course are granted on the basis of career and written test conducted by the university itself. Sambalpur University has not yet started the application process for BBA admissions for the academic year 2021-22, however, it is expected to commence from the month of September this year. Sambalpur University BBA Course Highlights

Sambalpur University offers a BBA course under the approval of UGC for 3 years which are further divided into six semesters.
The BBA program is offered as a full time regular course.
The university charges around INR 38,000 for its BBA program. Candidates can also avail scholarship facilities offered by the state government.
The basic eligibility requirement to enroll for the course is 10+2 with 40% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
Sambalpur University conducts a written test for admissions to its BBA program.

Sambalpur University BBA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions to the BBA program at Sambalpur University must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from CHSE, Odisha or any other recognized board with 40% aggregate marks.

Sambalpur University BBA Admission Process

Sambalpur University provides admissions to its BBA course on the basis of candidate’s merit in career and written test with equal weightage.
Candidates who fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria shall only be considered eligible for further admission process.
The university prepares a merit list of candidates on the basis of their performance in the test.
Shortlisted candidates are then required to confirm their admission by depositing the required documents and tuition fees before the deadline in the university office.

The BBA course offered by Sambalpur University is an undergraduate course extended over a span of three years. The course is designed to develop managerial skills of candidates and approach towards a holistic growth.

The curriculum comprises four elective courses, namely, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource and Management of Global Business
It is a credit based course and carries a total of 100 credits.
Candidates are also required to prepare a dissertation on any topic of their choice and interest in 6th semester.

Program Structure

Duration: The BBA program consists of 6 semesters, namely, even and odd semesters of six months duration each. Odd semester is from July to December whereas even semester is from January to June. Examinations are generally conducted in the month of December and May for odd and even semesters respectively.

Credits and Marks: BBA is a credit based course, hence, it follows CBCS pattern in each semester. Each paper of 1st and 3rd year carries 16 credits and 400 marks whereas the papers of 2nd year carry 18 credits and 450 marks. Hence, the program is assigned a weightage of 100 credits and 2500 marks for a total of 26 papers.

Examination: Examinations are conducted in each semester and the weightage distribution pattern is as follows:

Internal Exam: 20%
Semester Exam: 70%
Continuous evaluation in terms of class tests, quizzes, class participation etc: 10%

Candidates are required to score at least 40% marks separately in both internal & end-term examinations and 50% in aggregate in order to pass the examinations.

Evaluation: Evaluation of the candidates is done on the basis of his/her performance in internal and external examinations. Additionally, class tests, quizzes and presentations for each paper also contribute significantly towards the evaluation process.

Dissertation and Viva-voce Presentation: During the 5th semester, each student will be required to prepare a dissertation on any topic of his/her interest under the guidance of a faculty member. The dissertation and viva-voce carries 70 marks and 30 marks respectively.

Scholarships: Sambalpur University provides financial assistance to needy students with weaker financial backgrounds. Students can also avail scholarship facilities offered by the Odisha state government based on their merit and eligibility as mentioned below:
