College of Fisheries in Berhampur, Odisha is one of the few distinguished colleges, which is established to impart education in fishery science. State Agricultural University and Indian Council of Agricultural Research are providing financial aid for the growth and enhancement of this institute. The objective of this institute is to promote the in-depth study of prospects and issues in fishery science and aquaculture. College of Fisheries is running Bachelor and Masters Programme in Fisheries, Ph.D in Aquaculture in association with Centre of Freshwater Aquaculture. These programmes are ‘course cum research programmes, created to cover all the aspects of Fisheries Science. Its USP is its well-equipped infrastructure and its Farm & Hatchery facilities, which are one of the best in country.

1. Associated with ICAR and UNDP:
The institute is well recognized and is following the guidelines of ICAR and State Agricultural University. Students are given right platform to participate in government organized events and seminars which in turn give them adequate exposure on Fisheries Science.

Due to financial assistance from state, the institution is well equipped with hi -tech and modern facilities, which help students to do fine research in the subject. This includes well-equipped laboratories, fishery technological blocks, well-furnished hostel, library etc. Moreover it is proud to have Farm and Hatchery facilities for practical study and experiments. It includes freshwater pond and hatching pool.
3. Excursions and Conferences:
The College hosts and participates in Agricultural conferences and seminars pertinent to the Fisheries Science. It regularly organizes academic excursions and study tours which plays an important role in enhancing their overall improvement on the subject. The institute also owns a fishing vessel to conduct practical experiments and surveys on fisheries.
