For BBA, Christ University is the best option. The institute follows a rigorous curriculum which will help you to be more disciplined. Along with the regular academics, you are free to pursue many certificate courses at Christ. These will help your CV if you want to do an MBA later.

Christ University BBA placements are pretty good. According to the recent highlights, students received an average CTC of 6-7 LPA.

If you are getting the morning section, choose St. Xaviers. The institute has an amazing commerce department. It is one of the top commerce colleges in the country. The faculties and infrastructure are excellent. There are tonnes of extra-curricular activities to pick from.

The department has a good placement record. Each year around 90% of students get placed through the campus drive.

Having done some research on both the colleges, I have gathered some information which I am going to share with you. Hope this answers your question.

  • Christ University Bangalore is a more experienced institute. It has the locational advantage being in Bangalore, which is the IT hub of India.
  • A student of Christ University enjoys higher chances of being hired by IT MNC firms, after completing BBA.
  • There is no exit option for the IPM course in IIM Indore once enrolled.
  • In the current scenario, companies are showing preference to students who have a multi-disciplinary background. Pursuing a BBA and MBA with specializations will be a better option than pursuing a program for five years.
  • Moreover, the average packages offered to the students who are pursuing IPM is less than that offered to the students who are pursuing PGDM.
Categories Christ University Bangalore
Course Fee 5 lakhs
Highest CTC 8 LPA
Average CTC 3.56 LPA
Recruiting Companies Tech Mahindra, Accenture, IBM, Dell, etc.

The final two years of IPM are PGDM. The reason for this is that IPM students have to take IPMAT and for PGDM, they will have to take CAT. CAT is much more difficult than the former. In addition to that, IPM is a new course. So it is really not worth the enormous amount of money. In Christ University, you will know the extent of its brand value.

It all depends on what you want to do. Here are a few things to think about:

  • Flexibility -You have a lot of time at DU. You can study Actuarial Science, CFA, CFP, Data Analyst, CIMA, ACCA, CS, CWA, and many other things. As a result, more career opportunities are available at DU. Christ is very strict about attendance, and you don't have time, so you must concentrate solely on the course.

  • Fees - College fees are approximately Rs 12000 per year, as opposed to Rs 1,000,000 in Christ.

  • Exposure - There are numerous societies at DU that can provide excellent exposure. Society is better in Christ, but imagine 4000 students competing for that opportunity. Furthermore, DU departmental and college fest are better experiences for students than Christ because students manage everything from arranging funds to organizing every event without much help from authorities. Furthermore, you can compete in competitions organized by various DU colleges ranging from debate, music, and dance to mock stock, treasure hunt, and beg, borrow, and steal. However, because you are required to give regular presentations in class and because of the diversity of students, Christ aids in the development of an average person's personality.

  • Placement- At 95%, you can get DCAC or Shaheed Bhagat College, which do not have a placement boost of more than 20-30%. However, in Christ, you will receive more than 70% placement ( depends upon course though ). The average salary given is not significantly different. (Approximately 3 to 4). However, some companies that offer better packages do come in Christ ( i.e above 5 lac ) Some sales and marketing firms unrelated to your course may be present in DU.

  • Curriculum - The curriculum at DU is outdated and lacks a practical aspect, whereas at Christ, they will provide you with numerous case studies and a rigorous syllabus. During your three-year tenure at Christ, you will be required to complete an internship and work in an NGO.

  • Emotional Benefit - Because Christ has a good ranking, a large crowd, a great environment, and a good infrastructure, you will feel more confident. It might not be the case in DU.

  • Faculty- Professors at DU are far more qualified than those at other colleges, and some are published authors as well. However, because they are a government institution, some do not teach at all and waste time. There are a few who teach exceptionally well. In Christ, even if they are not college or research paper qualified, almost all of them teach and even encourage students to come to them.

  • Alumni & Peer Group - Alumni of Christ are not strong enough to make a significant impact. North campus colleges in DU have excellent alumni. In terms of the south campus, it is the same as Christ for colleges such as SBSC, DCAC, Gargi, and so on. Peer group is also similar in terms of hard work and intelligence (though it may be higher in DU). However, the overall alumni of Delhi University are far more accomplished than Christ ever will be.

Colleges also assist in providing an initial push. It makes no difference where you went to college once you get a job. So it all depends on your goals and the type of person you are. If you can plan and follow it, you will have more time to do things that will help you achieve your goals more easily because Delhi has the best coaching facilities for everything. If you simply cannot, choose Christ because you will be required to work due to regular assignments, which instills discipline in a person.

Among these, ISBR is better. Students are groomed through experiential academics. During the course cohort, you will get to attend various corporate visits, events, workshops, and seminars and learn the latest industry trends.

ISBR Bangalore placements are excellent. Accenture, Bajaj, Cars 24, Decathlon, and HDFC are some of the major recruiters for the institute. During the 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 7.5 LPA. While the highest CTC was INR 11 LPA.

Choosing between IIM and Christ University is not a difficult decision. Without second thoughts, forgo the offer from Christ University and go for IIM Indore. This is because

  • The title of IIM is more than enough to open opportunities for you in the future
  • You will get better exposure and crowd at IIM than at Christ university
  • Obviously the placement opportunities are better at IIM than at any other university.

Particulars

IIM Indore

Christ University

Average CTC

INR 24.09 LPA

INR 15 LPA

Highest CTC

INR 21.46 LPA

Even if both the colleges offer similar packages IIM has a bigger brand image and will help you in the long run.

It’s your attitude towards learning that matters more than the college itself. Yet if I have to comment on the two colleges, I would say Christ University is a fairly good choice. The main reasons are

  • The fest culture makes you come out of your comfort zones and test your limits and diversify your talents.
  • The overqualified rules set by the college increase your patience level ten folds
  • You get to live in Bangalore, the city of innumerable opportunities and dreams.

However, if you are joining the college with the mindset of being taught then you need to rectify it. Here it’s you who has to force yourself to learn no one is going to push you. Anyone who wants to learn about business, in reality, will not be able to gain much from this B School. The B School churns out managers only. Rarely does it give birth to a business owner or entrepreneur despite the university’s module for entrepreneurship in a semester.
