Course Description

Christ University BA admission 2024 will begin soon. Application forms for admission can be filled online on the official website on the official website – christuniversity.in. Admissions to the program will be based on the Christ University entrance test (CUET) followed by Micro Presentation (MP), Personal Interview (PI), Skill Assessment (SA), and Audition conducted by the respective department. Check Christ University Admission 2024

Christ University offers BA programs in 9 different specializations. The duration of the course is for 3 years. The eligibility criteria would require a person to pass the 10+2 from a recognized board. The application procedure for the same is done via online mode.

Christ University BA Eligibility Criteria 

  • The student candidate needs to pass the 10+2 (Karnataka PUC/ ISC/CBSE/NIOS/State Boards) in any stream with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized board of India.
  • Candidates, who’ll appear for their 12th standard in March/May, may apply through their class X and XI marks.
  • For students pursuing International Curriculum, following eligibility needs to be taken care of:

Applicants that are pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level with 24 credits.

Applicants that are pursuing GCE/Edexcel must have a minimum of 3A levels with a grade not less than C.

International students from the Non-English speaking countries shall:

  • Produce relevant evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or
  • Have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores

Christ University BA Admission Guidelines 

The selection process for the program consists of 3 stages namely Skill Assessment, Personal Interview, and lastly the Assessment of past performance. The Skill Assessment stage will test the candidate's written skills, communication skills, and logical reasoning ability.

  • The personal interview stage will test the personality of the candidate.
  • The third stage will test the candidate's past performance in the 10th, 11th, and 12th standard.

How to Apply?

The student candidates may apply to the BA course through both online and offline mode.

Offline application:

  • Visit Christ University and obtain the application form from the office of admission, Christ University, central block, Hosur Road, Bengaluru- 560029.
  • Fill all the required details in the form and go to the official website of Christ University.
  • Now you've to create your own unique ID and click on the 'Proceed Application' to put in the 'Application Form Number'.

Online Application:

  • Go to the official website of Christ University.
  • Register yourself by creating your registration ID and Username.
  • Now pay the application fee by Credit/Debit/Net Banking or by Demand Draft drawn in favor of Christ University payable at Bengaluru.
  • Fill in the application with all the necessary details including your personal and academic details.
  • Remember the registration number and take out a print of the application form for future reference.
  • Now submit or send the application form along with all the necessary documents inside an A4 sized envelope and don't forget to mention the course name and your phone number.

Documents those are required while applying are:

  • Copy of mark sheet or certificate of 10th/11th or 12th standard.
  • Copy of the migration certificate from the last qualified board except for Karnataka State Board.
  • Copy of Transfer Certificate
  • Account Copy of South Indian Bank & E-admission card.
  • Provisional degree certificate.

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy

It offers bachelor's and Master's courses in Philosophy and M.Phil/Ph.D. in Philosophy.

Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media, English and Psychology (BA CEP)

1st Semester:

  • Introduction to Mass Communication
  • Critical Thinking

2nd Semester:

  • Print Media Production
  • Strategic Storytelling

3rd Semester:

  • Broadcast Media
  • Software for Media
  • Social media.
  • Reading Cinema

At the end of the second year, students are directed to do internships either in print/radio/television/cinema/ social media and provide a detailed report of it.

5th Semester:

  • theoretical and methodological foundations of sociology
  • Contributions of eminent Indian sociologists and substantial themes of Indian society
  • In the 5th and 6th semester, the student has to choose between-

Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts, English, Psychology (BA PEP)

  • In the second year, the student needs to choose one area of specialization among dance, music or theatre.
  • They need to carry on with the same area of specialization till the last semester.
  • In the 3rd year, there will be 2 papers each semester concerning the contents of the chosen area of specialization.

Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies, English, Psychology (BA TEP)

Christ University BA Scholarships

The scholarships are provided on the basis of merit marks, financial assistance, and alumni association. Following are the details of the scholarships provided:

Merit scholarships:

  • 100% fee waiver is granted to those students who score 80% marks or above in the semester examinations.
  • 100% fee waiver is granted to those students as well who come from Karnataka villages and score 75% marks or above in the semester examinations.
  • 50% fee waiver is granted to those students who score 75% marks or above in the semester examinations.
  • 50% fee waiver is granted to those students as well who come from Karnataka villages and score 80% marks or above in the semester examinations.

Financial Assistance Scholarships:

To avail of this scholarship, students must apply to the office of awards and scholarships with supporting documents. For applying, the student candidate needs to submit a separate application form for the scholarship along with the main application form. The authorities will then set up an interview with the student and then decide the final concession on the fee prior to the payment. Following are the details of the percentage of concession for different categories-

  • Self-financing- 0-50%
  • Others- 0-90%

Alumni Association Scholarships:

This association helps the economically weaker section of students to avail of the scholarship through the Alumni Fund. To apply for this scholarship, students shall approach the Alumni Office, BHM Department, II Block, II Floor.

Ques. Can the students apply for more than one program in a single application form for BA in Christ University?

Ans. No, it is not allowed to apply for more than one program of BA in a single application form for Christ University. But, 2nd and 3rd preference options shall be provided in case of a few other programs. The candidate can select one preference from the given drop-down box of preferences.

Ques. When will the applications be open for the BA program by Christ University?

Ans. The applications for all the UG and PG Programs will begin from December. All the further details regarding the application process is available on the official website of Christ University.

Ques. Can a student change to the main campus after getting selected for another campus in BA programme in Christ University?

Ans. No, the student cannot change to the main campus once it is allotted. There is also no need to change the campus because, except for the location, everything else is centralized for all the campuses of Christ University. The placements are also centralized.

BSc course at Christ University is pretty good. The university offers good exposure to students. It has good infrastructure and facilities. The classrooms are spacious and have all the required amenities. The campus is wifi enabled. 

The course curriculum of BSc at Christ is very helpful to clear various post-graduation entrances. The faculties are well-experienced in their respective fields.

If you are getting the morning section, choose St. Xaviers. The institute has an amazing commerce department. It is one of the top commerce colleges in the country. The faculties and infrastructure are excellent. There are tonnes of extra-curricular activities to pick from.

Having done some research on both the colleges, I have gathered some information which I am going to share with you. Hope this answers your question.

  • Christ University Bangalore is a more experienced institute. It has the locational advantage being in Bangalore, which is the IT hub of India. 
  • A student of Christ University enjoys higher chances of being hired by IT MNC firms, after completing BBA.
  • There is no exit option for the IPM course in IIM Indore once enrolled.
  • In the current scenario, companies are showing preference to students who have a multi-disciplinary background. Pursuing a BBA and MBA with specializations will be a better option than pursuing a program for five years.
  • Moreover, the average packages offered to the students who are pursuing IPM is less than that offered to the students who are pursuing PGDM.

The final two years of IPM are PGDM. The reason for this is that IPM students have to take IPMAT and for PGDM, they will have to take CAT. CAT is much more difficult than the former. It all depends on what you want to do. Here are a few things to think about: 

  • Flexibility -You have a lot of time at DU. You can study Actuarial Science, CFA, CFP, Data Analyst, CIMA, ACCA, CS, CWA, and many other things. As a result, more career opportunities are available at DU. Christ is very strict about attendance, and you don't have time, so you must concentrate solely on the course.

  • Fees - College fees are approximately Rs 12000 per year, as opposed to Rs 1,000,000 in Christ.

  • Exposure - There are numerous societies at DU that can provide excellent exposure. Society is better in Christ, but imagine 4000 students competing for that opportunity. Furthermore, DU departmental and college fest are better experiences for students than Christ because students manage everything from arranging funds to organizing every event without much help from authorities. Furthermore, you can compete in competitions organized by various DU colleges ranging from debate, music, and dance to mock stock, treasure hunt, and beg, borrow, and steal. However, because you are required to give regular presentations in class and because of the diversity of students, Christ aids in the development of an average person's personality. 

  • Placement- At 95%, you can get DCAC or Shaheed Bhagat College, which do not have a placement boost of more than 20-30%. However, in Christ, you will receive more than 70% placement ( depends upon course though ). The average salary given is not significantly different. (Approximately 3 to 4). However, some companies that offer better packages do come in Christ ( i.e above 5 lac ) Some sales and marketing firms unrelated to your course may be present in DU.

  • Curriculum - The curriculum at DU is outdated and lacks a practical aspect, whereas at Christ, they will provide you with numerous case studies and a rigorous syllabus. During your three-year tenure at Christ, you will be required to complete an internship and work in an NGO.

  • Emotional Benefit - Because Christ has a good ranking, a large crowd, a great environment, and a good infrastructure, you will feel more confident. It might not be the case in DU.

  • Faculty- Professors at DU are far more qualified than those at other colleges, and some are published authors as well. However, because they are a government institution, some do not teach at all and waste time. There are a few who teach exceptionally well. In Christ, even if they are not college or research paper qualified, almost all of them teach and even encourage students to come to them. 

  • Alumni & Peer Group - Alumni of Christ are not strong enough to make a significant impact. North campus colleges in DU have excellent alumni. In terms of the south campus, it is the same as Christ for colleges such as SBSC, DCAC, Gargi, and so on. Peer group is also similar in terms of hard work and intelligence (though it may be higher in DU). However, the overall alumni of Delhi University are far more accomplished than Christ ever will be. 


Colleges also assist in providing an initial push. It makes no difference where you went to college once you get a job. So it all depends on your goals and the type of person you are. If you can plan and follow it, you will have more time to do things that will help you achieve your goals more easily because Delhi has the best coaching facilities for everything. If you simply cannot, choose Christ because you will be required to work due to regular assignments, which instills discipline in a person.

It’s your attitude towards learning that matters more than the college itself. Yet if I have to comment on the two colleges, I would say Christ University is a fairly good choice. The main reasons are

  • The fest culture makes you come out of your comfort zones and test your limits and diversify your talents.
  • The overqualified rules set by the college increase your patience level ten folds
  • You get to live in Bangalore, the city of innumerable opportunities and dreams.

However, if you are joining the college with the mindset of being taught then you need to rectify it. Here it’s you who has to force yourself to learn no one is going to push you. Anyone who wants to learn about business, in reality, will not be able to gain much from this B School. The B School churns out managers only. Rarely does it give birth to a business owner or entrepreneur despite the university’s module for entrepreneurship in a semester.
