Course Information

Course Description

Bangalore University offers the two-year LL.M course at the University Law College & Dept of Studies of Law. The LL.M course follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Admission to the LL.M program at Bangalore University is done through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the college. The application mode is both online and offline. LL.M course offers specialization in five branches of law Constitution and Legal Order, Corporate and Commercial Law, Labour and Employment Law, Criminal Law. The course has an intake of ten students under the general admission policy laid down by the Government and two students per branch under-payment seats category with enhanced fees.

Bangalore University LLM Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria for admission to the LL.M program-

Passed LLB degree of Bangalore University or any other UGC recognized universities
They should have secured at least 45% in the aggregate of 3 year/5 year LL.B Degree examination
There is a 5% relaxation to the aggregate requirement given to candidates belonging to SC/ST, Cat-I, and person with disabilities categories

Bangalore University LLM Admission Guidelines

The application form for admission to the course both online and offline. The first part of the application is online and followed by offline document verification.

Fill the application form online on the Bangalore University official website.

Duly filled applications form along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents must be submitted in either person or by post before the last date of submission to the Office of the Chairman, University Law College & Dept. of Studies in Law, Jnana Bharathi Campus, Bangalore University, Bengaluru-560056.
Applicants need to collect the acknowledgment of verification of relevant documents.
Announcement of provisional eligible candidates for Common Entrance Test (CET)
Appear for the entrance test
The merit list is announced and the online allotment of seats is done.

The University Law College has a Central Placement Cell (CPC). It is managed by student members under the guidance of an appointed Faculty Advisor, the Chairman, and the Principal of the College. CPC helps students to gain internships, placements, and other employment opportunities. They approach and invite recruiters to hire graduating students. Ans. Foreign students can apply for the LL.M program. But, if you are a student from other than English speaking countries, then you must have completed the TOEFL or other equivalent exams to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria. You are also exempted from the admission test.

To get your degree certificate, you have to visit BU, the Janana Barathi campus, near Kengeri. Go to the Parikhsha Bhavan, which is near the administrative block. Enquire about your certificate there. In there Parikhsha Bhavan, there is a marks card section, you should get your certificate there. The staff will help you with this.

The process of getting transcripts from Bangalore University is as follows. You can get the application form for transcripts on the official website - Bangalore University Transcript. On the website download the form - ‘Application Form for Issue of Various Examination Related Documents.’ If you studied at any colleges affiliated with BU, you need to get the form signed by your principal or dean of the college. If you studied directly under BU, you may need to get it signed by Registrar's office. On the website pay the transcript processing fees. Save the payment receipt as a PDF. For getting the transcripts you will need - Photocopy of all semester mark sheets, both sides, Photocopy of the degree certificate, Transcript Form, printout of transcript fee payment confirmation. Also, provide envelopes for each set of transcripts you need. Submit the application with documents at Pariksha Bhavan, Bangalore University. One person will collect them, verify and give you a handwritten acknowledgment. Keep the acknowledgment safely, you will need to while collecting the transcripts. You can collect your certified transcripts from the same office, after 4-6 weeks.

Bangalore University offers good academics. Scoring the pass mark is easy. But you need to put in the effort to score higher marks. Courses such as Microbiology, Life Science, Biotechnology, Genetics, etc. are comparably easier to score good marks. The evaluation process is a little difficult for courses such as Physics, Biochemistry, Political Science, etc. Just solving the previous years' questions will not help you score good marks in these subjects. You need to complete the syllabus as well.

According to the reviews online, Bangalore University (BU) is an average university and is known to be deteriorating day by day. Students are irritated by their evaluation system. They tend to check the answer sheets carelessly. The faculty never completes the syllabus. The announcement of results is delayed quite often. The condition of the campus is deteriorating and no action is taken to solve it. There is a lack of core technical subjects in B.Com. It is suggested that you do not go for BU, as it won't provide learning and understanding courses, topics and the concepts. It will be better if you opt for VTU instead.
