Doing an MCA from Bangalore University is certainly worth the time and money invested. It offers decent academics. Third semester onwards, the course work includes two mini projects per semester. This gives a lot of hands-on learning experience. These projects will also help you enrich your resume.

The placement will depend on how you utilize your skills and knowledge. The average CTC for MCA offered during the recent Bangalore University placements was INR 6 LPA. 

One of my friends studied at Bangalore University (BU). According to him, VTU is more demanding than BU. He mentioned that more preference is given to a BE student from VTU or BU, followed by an MCA from VTU and at last MCA from BU.

MCA is always the last option for students interested in the field of Computer, because students usually expect good placements after graduation. MCA provides average placements but it is no comparison to the ones B.Tech or BE students get. 

If you are looking to pursue MCA in Bangalore, we have mainly two universities, you can opt for BU. Here from the 3rd semester onwards, you will have 2 mini projects per semester. These projects help a lot with learning.

MCA gives an opportunity to non computer graduates to enter the software industry. It is more of a shortcut to reach the destination. Their syllabus is more based on a graduation level.

Lastly, placements here are average. Securing a job depends more on your overall academic performance, theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, than the college. So, even if you do not get on-campus placements you can go for off-campus placements.
