Amity Gurgaon On-Admission Merit Scholarships 

Amity University Gurgaon will disclose the scholarship for the students while welcoming applications from the students who have excelled in academics after passing 10+2, Graduation, or other qualifying exams by the university.

Amount of Scholarship

The amount of Scholarship will vary from 25% -100% of the tuition fees depending upon the passing percentage of the marks in qualifying examinations which will be announced at the time of admissions. 

Grant of ON-Admission Merit Scholarship

Scholarship grants during admissions will be constrained by the rules followed by the Admission Department. There can be a slight variation in these guidelines depending on the academic session year. 10% Fee concessions are available in the first year to all the Amity students who have taken Admission in the next higher class without any gap.

The following conditions should be fulfilled in case of an On-Admission Scholarship at Amity University Gurgaon: 

  • Cumulative of all the marks in Class 12 should be taken excluding subjects like Physical education, performing arts, fine arts, vocational and non-written subjects. 
  • The candidate should have scored the aggregate marks as per eligibility. 
  • Passing all the subjects is necessary
  • Candidate should have appeared in 12+ examinations. 
  • If a candidate is found illegible, the university holds the right to cancel that application.
  • The candidates undertaking a re-exam for upgrading their percentage in class XII are not eligible. 
  • CBSE/ICSE/State Boards are eligible for UG Scholarships. 

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship

The scholarship will be acknowledged at the time of admission only. A prior sanction of the competent authority for grant scholarship will be obtained and verified by the admission department keeping in mind the prescribed level of mark/percentage of marks/percentile/Grades. 

Withdrawal of On Admission Merit-Scholarship

The following are the conditions according to which the scholarship can be withdrawn at any time during the programme with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.

  • If a candidate is incapable to secure a rank in the programme as per the Admission notification of the concerned batch.
  • If the candidate is unable to clear all examinations 
  • If the candidate has adopted any unfair means in the examination and has been debarred.
  • Exception: The vice chancellor can review such withdrawals 
  • If the student is accused of any misconduct like bad behavior, gross discipline, ragging, or use of drugs by the Head of the department.

Continuation of On-Admission Merit Scholarship

As per the Admission Notification, a candidate will continue the eligibility for the scholarship after fulfilling the criteria at the end of each year of the program. 

  • The student will get a lower scholarship amount if he/she is incapable of maintaining the required rank in the batch to be eligible for the scholarship amount at the time of admission. Such students can improve their performance to become eligible for the amount promised at the time of admission.
  • If in case, the candidate's performance uplifts during the course of time, he/she will not be given a higher amount.

Amity Gurgaon Merit Scholarship During a Program 

Amity University Gurgaon is providing Merit scholarships to the students to boost their confidence in academics which will help them in achieving a higher performance during the completion of the opted programme. The Scholarships will be provided at the end of the first year after the result declaration and will get renewed after every year taking into consideration of one’s academic performance at the end of each year. 

Grant of Merit Scholarship

These scholarships differ from the ones that are given at the time of Admission. A list of toppers will be drawn from each programmes of study comprising the toppers name in descending order of excellence determined on the basis of CGPA.

The following conditions should be checked before applying for Merit Scholarship at Amity Gurgaon: 

  • A candidate who has passed the examination on the first attempt is eligible for considering the scholarship.
  • A candidate should be in the top 10% of the programme.

Amount of Scholarship

The amount of Merit Scholarship during the programme will be 30% of the tuition fee payable by the student in the subsequent year.

Continuation of Merit Scholarship

For continuation of the scholarship, the student should remain in the top 10% of the merit list of the programme and the number of scholarships shall be as per the maximum number of scholarships to be granted for an academic year.

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship

The Merit scholarships will be automatically granted on the declaration of the results by the Controller of Examinations.

Withdrawal of Merit Scholarship

The scholarship shall be withdrawn at any time during a program, with effect from the date as approved by the Vice Chancellor, under the following conditions:

  • If a candidate is incapable to secure a rank in the program as per the Admission notification of the concerned batch.
  • If the candidate is unable to clear all examinations 
  • If the candidate has adopted any unfair means in the examination and has been debarred.
  • Exception: The vice chancellor can review such withdrawals

Amity Gurgaon Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

Deserving Students who excel in academics and need financial assistance will be given Merit-cum-means (MCM) Scholarships to carry forward their studies. These types of scholarships will be given from the first year and will be reviewed after each year. 

Grant of Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

  • The scholarship will be awarded based on the CGPA at the end of the academic year of the following years and after the admission department has taken into account inter-se merit for the first year.
  • A student must submit an application on the template found in Annexure I together with all the necessary proof of their family's income, as determined by the Scholarship Award Committee. The family's combined income should not exceed $3,000 per year for the student receiving the merit-based award. 
  • If a student has received another scholarship from the school, the sponsoring organization, or one of its institutions, or any other grants, concessions, stipends ex-gratia, or awards from other sources, and the total of those sums, when added to the family's income, exceeds Rs. 3,00,000, they are not eligible for the scholarship.

Amount of Scholarship

The amount of Merit-cum-Means Scholarship will be equal to 50% of the tuition fee payable for the year and will be rounded off to the next multiple of INR 100/-. Documentation and interview of such students will be ensured by Scholarship Committee. 

Continuation of Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

A student will have to apply in the prescribed form each year for continuation of the scholarship and fulfill the conditions.

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship

  • The students fulfilling eligibility conditions for the award of Merit-cum-Means Scholarships will apply on the prescribed form to the Dean of Students Welfare (DoSW) through the Head of the Institution. The Head of the Institution/ Department will forward the cases to DoSW with detailed justification and recommendations for the Scholarship Award Committee.
  • The Dean of Students Welfare will make further suitable recommendations on each case after ensuring no disciplinary case is pending or contemplated against the student. He may take the advice of the Concerned official if considered necessary.
  • The Dean of Students Welfare will forward all the cases to the Registrar with suitable recommendations for further processing and for seeking approval of the Vice Chancellor.

Withdrawal of Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

The scholarship shall be withdrawn under the following conditions from the date as approved by the Vice-Chancellor:

  • If a candidate is incapable to secure a rank in the programme as per the Admission notification of the concerned batch.
  • If the candidate is unable to clear all examinations 
  • If the candidate has adopted any unfair means in the examination and has been debarred.
  • Exception: The vice chancellor can review such withdrawals 
  • If the student is accused of any misconduct like bad behavior, gross discipline, ragging, or use of drugs by the Head of the department.
  • If the income of the family crosses 3,00,000 per annum.
