Course Description

Delhi University BA admission 2024 for all affiliated colleges is expected to start in the month of June 2024. Admission to the BA program will be based on scores obtained in the CUET UG examination, conducted by NTA. CUET UG 2024 exam will be held from May 15 to May 31, 2024. Registrations for BA admission at DU affiliated colleges will be done through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS UG) Portal @ugadmission.uod.ac.in. CSAS UG application fee is INR 250 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Check DU Admission 2024

Delhi University BA Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Arts program at Delhi university a candidate must have completed 12th from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
For Journalism, candidates must have English as the main subject.

Delhi University BA Admission Criteria

Candidates applying for BA admission at Delhi University except (DU SOL and NCWEB) must clear the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG). Those who qualify the entrance examination will be required to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation. The admission process includes three phases, in the first phase aspirants are required to fill the CSAS portal by visiting the official website – ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Phase 2 includes filling out programs and college preferences and seat allotment will be done in the third phase. The university will be conducting multiple rounds of seat allocation based on the colleges and programs combination filled by students. Selected candidates then can choose to accept/freeze or upgrade their seats by the given date. Upon acceptance of a seat, the respective college will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the fee payment.

Admission through Sports and Extracurricular Activities (ECA): Candidates are required to appear in a performance test along with the CUET. Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of combined score of CUET (25%) and performance test (75%). Certificates will also be considered for the same along with the CUET score.

Seat Reservation: As per the DU admission policy, 50% seats are reserved for minorities in colleges like St. Stephens. 85% of marks for admission will be taken from the CUET, and the remaining 15% will be decided by colleges. Admission to the remaining 50% seats will be done on the basis of CUET marks only.

Delhi University BA Application Process

Candidates seeking admission to more than 90 affiliated colleges of Delhi University must register for CUET examination first and then on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The application process for Delhi University UG admisisons is mentioned below:

DU BA Application Process Through CUET UG

Candidates must visit the official CUET UG official website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.
After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button.
After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully.
After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents.
Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future reference.

Visit the official website of Delhi University – admission.uod.ac.in or CSAS portal – ugadmission.uod.ac.in
Click on “Register” in the menu bar.
Read all the information carefully and then click on “proceed”.
Enter your personal and academic details.
Submit the necessary documents such as photograph, signature, class X marksheet, category certificate.
Pay an application fee through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI/etc.
Submit the application form.
Take a printout of application form for future reference.

CUET Exam Pattern

CUET is divided into 3 sections. First is language, second is “Domain-specific topics”, and third one is general knowledge which will be required for admission to BA program only.
Candidates are required to appear in at least one language out of 33 languages.
Candidates have to choose at least three subjects which they have taken in class 12th as domain-specific topics for section 2.
Candidates can appear for CUET in a maximum of six subjects out of which one must be a language subject.
For BA admission, it is mandatory to appear in the entrance test in any one language from section one and in any three subjects from the other section. Merit will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the same subject and language. Check CUET Exam Pattern

For an MCA, NIT Trichy will be better. It is known for its technical courses. NIT T will give you better learning opportunities for MCA. The institute offers hands-on learning opportunities. JNU is a better option, especially for postgraduate degrees. JNU has a different aura altogether. The environment on campus is extremely accepting. You will meet people on campus who are intellectuals, readers, writers, and speakers. Simply being on JNU campus can be rewarding. It has a different culture entirely which motivates the holistic development of personality. JNU has an excellent faculty base. In financial terms as well JNU is a better option. To say, one of these is better than the other will be an oversimplification. You should choose BHU or DU based on the course you are interested in. Here is a streamwise comparison of DU and BHU. Arts - For English and Economics, DU is better. BHU courses are better for Sanskrit, Hindi, Geography, and Philosophy. For the rest of these subjects, these institutes are at a similar level. Science - BHU is slightly ahead for most of the science stream. Commerce - For commerce courses, DU is definitely better. Engineering - It won’t be fair to compare IIT BHU with DU. The former is way ahead of the latter. Management - FMS is a tier 1 B-School and arguably the best non-IIM school in the country. IMS BHU ranks nowhere near FMS. Law - For law degrees, DU has a slight advantage because of its location. Medical - IMS BHU is one of the best medical institutes in the country. Academics are more or less the same at BHU and DU. However, big names like St. Stephens, SRCC, LSR, etc. are a little ahead of BHU in terms of teaching quality. BHU offers better research facilities, especially for science courses. DU is way ahead of BHU in terms of corporate jobs and civil services. BHU offers a better campus experience compared to DU. But if we talk about location, choosing a metropolitan city, that too Delhi will be more advantageous. You will have greater exposure and opportunities. If you are getting into one of the top colleges at DU. You should go for it. If you are getting an average college, it’s still better to prefer DU for Commerce, Economics and English. BHU science faculty is good. If you are interested in a Science degree, you can choose BHU.
