Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is a government institute of Journalism, located in New Delhi. Established in 1965 by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it is one of India's premier institutes of Journalism. IIMC is Asia’s first Institute to have a dedicated Communication Research Department conducting research, analysis, and impact assessment studies for various Ministries and Government Departments. IIMC has its main campus in Delhi and five regional campuses in Dhenkanal, Odisha; Aizawl, Mizoram; Amravati, Maharashtra; Jammu, J&K; and Kottayam, Kerala.
IIMC offers various Post-graduate Diploma in Journalism courses in English, Hindi, Radio & TV, Urdu, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Advertising & Public Relations. IIMC also offers many short-term courses on media relations & engagement and public relations for officials of various departments of Government of India, State Governments, PSUs and the Armed Forces. IIMC admissions to PG Diploma courses are done through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG), conducted by the NTA. IIMC admissions are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination followed by a counselling process conducted by the institute. IIMC accepts CUET PG scores for admission to PG Diploma courses. IIMC conducts its entrance examinations for admission to PG Diploma in language courses such as PG Diploma Courses in Odia, Marathi, Malayalam and Urdu Journalism.
