Bastar University (BU) offers a full-time Ph.D. of three years in regular mode. The university has eight specializations in the Ph.D. program, namely English, Hindi, History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology & Tribal Studies, and Forestry & WildLife. The minimum eligibility requirement is to have a master’s degree in a relevant field. The admission of a Ph.D. is based on the performance of an entrance test followed by the interview.

Bastar University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who are seeking admission in Ph.D. at Bastar University should have a master's degree in the relevant field.
• Also, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks in master's degree passed from any recognized university.
• If a candidate has an M. Phil or any equivalent degree from a recognized university/college/institution, then they are also eligible to apply for a Ph.D. program at Bastar University.

• For offline mode, candidates can get the application form from the admission office at Bastar University Jagdalpur after paying the fee set by the university’s administration.
• Also, candidates can obtain the application form through the post as well. All they have to do is send a crossed demand draft in favor of the Registrar, Bastar University, Jagdalpur payable Bastar, paying the set admission fee.
• After receiving the application form, fill it carefully, and then submit it with the requisite documents to the university’s admission office prior to the last date of submission.

Online Mode

• For online mode, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of Bastar University’s portal.
• After registering, candidates will get a notification on their registered email ID.
• Fill in all the details in the admission form carefully and submit all the requisite & important documents along with it.
• In the last step, pay the admission fee set by the university through net banking, debit, or credit card as per convenience.

How to apply?

1. After carefully filling and submitting the form, the admission committee will assess the candidates’ application on the previous marks as well as the performance in the entrance test conducted by the university. 
2. The admission committee will evaluate whether the candidate is eligible for the Ph.D. program at Bastar University or not, then only the committee will either select or reject the application. 
3. Post that, when the candidate passes the entrance test, then their admissibility will be evaluated based on their interview performance.
