The aim of EFLU was to impart quality training for teachers in English which further introduced additional foreign languages such as Arabic, French, German, Japanese, etc. and was hence renamed as Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) in 1972. EFLU offers UG, PG and Doctoral courses in Arts. Admissions to UG programs are based on the scores of the CUET UG exam conducted by NTA. UG Admissions at EFL University is based on the CUET PG exam scores. Admissions to the PhD program is based on the scores of entrance exam and Interview conducted by the University. EFLU Scholarship
The University offers a Scholarship to PG students who hold excellent academic records and are from a weak economic background. This scholarship is known as Indira Single Girl Child Scholarship for PG Students. Following are the details of the English and Foreign Language University Scholarship:
Indira Single Girl Child Scholarship
It is a UGC scholarship scheme initiated with the objective to empower the girls of our country through the means of education. The government introduced Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship to compensate for the direct cost of girl education while pursuing higher education. This scholarship is for those girls who are the only child of their parents.
Scholarship Amount:
INR 36,200 per annum for a period of 2 years.
Eligibility:
- Girl Students must be pursuing a PG course from the University.
- She should be the only child of her parents.
- Candidates must not be more than 30 years of age at the time of admission into the PG program.
- Candidates admitted to the PG course through distance education mode are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Also, there are no income criteria for students to be eligible for this scholarship.
Documents Needed to Apply for Scholarship
- Scanned copy of Aadhar Enrollment/Aadhar Card
- Applicant’s passport-size photograph
- Self-attested copy of previous academic mark sheets
- Fee receipt of the current course year.
How to Avail?
- Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
- Register with NSP by providing all necessary details.
- A student application ID and password are generated on the registered mobile number.
- log in to NSP using the newly generated ID and password. An OTP is sent on the registered mobile number using which the candidates must change their password, which is a mandatory step.
- Once the password is changed, the candidates are directed to the Applicant’s Dashboard Page,
- Click on the ‘Application form’ to start the application process.
- Applicants need to provide all the necessary details such as registration details, academic details, basic details, contact details, and scheme details.
- All the required documents in support of identity and academic eligibility must be uploaded by the applicants.
- Now, the filled-in application form must be saved as a draft so that the applicant can check every detail once again to make sure they are correct.
- Finally, the candidate must click on the ‘Submit’ button to submit the completed scholarship application form.

EFLU Fellowships
The English and Foreign Languages University offers Fellowships to students who are pursuing a Doctoral program. Following are the details of English and Foreign Languages University fellowships:
UGC Junior Research Fellowships
For candidates who have qualified at the national level test conducted by the UGC. INR.16000/- per month and a contingency grant of INR 10,000/- per year. HRA as per University rules, if living outside the campus.
Senior Research Fellowships
Candidates who have been awarded UGC Junior Research fellowship for two years may be considered for the award of UGC Senior Research fellowships after a review. INR 18000/- per month and a Contingency Grant of INR. 20,500/- per year.

Admission process is easy, university have their own entrance test but now the criteria is totally changed for the academic year 2022 onwards, now the university came under cuet, which is a common university entrance test. so to taking admission one has to pass the cuet exam. the application process is totally online. Eligibility of a course is that one should have passed the 12th board exam or the candidate must be in the 12th class. All the details are available on the nta website or on the cuet.samarth.ac.in the government website. The reservation policy is according to the government policy. yes, one improvement I want to see in the admission process is that it should be more students friendly.
