Admissions to undergraduate programs are offered only in B.E. at BITS Goa. There are 6 specializations that are offered for which the selection process is the same. Read on to gather information about admissions, eligibility, entrances required and the selection criteria.

B.E. Eligibility

There are 2 types of criteria to be eligible for admissions to B.E. program at BITS Goa:

1. BITSAT- Passed 10+2 from a recognized State or Central Board with a minimum of 75% in PCM.
2. Direct Admission- State Board Toppers are offered direct admissions irrespective of their BITSAT scores, only if they have the highest aggregate in PCM/are Science stream toppers.

The M.E. admissions at BITS Goa are determined on the basis of the undergraduate degree. Students can take up only those specializations where they have a relevant UG degree. BITS HD Application Process

Follow the given steps to submit an application for admission to the M.E. program or higher degree program at BITS Goa:

• Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online at http://www.bitsadmission.com/hd. 
• A hard copy of the application form is not required to be sent to the college. However, candidates are advised to take a printout for future reference. 
• While filling the BITS HD form online, candidates are required to give preferences for the programs they wish to apply for.
• Candidates who wish to be considered for admission through GATE must enter details of GATE score, year of examination, All India Rank if applicable and Registration / Roll Number). 

• The completed application form along with the prescribed application fee should be submitted online by the prescribed deadline. 
• Those who wish to be considered only through the GATE score must pay INR 1000. While all others must pay INR 3150, including the fee for BITS HD online test.

Note: Those who wish to apply for M.E. Software Systems have to appear in the BITS HD test, and the GATE score has no relevance in merit deciding factor of the candidate.

GATE 2021 Application Requirements

The section below throws light upon the registration and requirement of documents for GATE aspirants:

Documents Required

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Dean/Registrar/Head of the Department.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.

How to Apply?

The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new user id and password using one unique personal email id.

Applications for admissions to doctoral programs at BITS Goa are invited in the second semester of the program. They are full-time courses opted by those students who wish to pursue research in the area of their interest. The following table shows the specializations offered at BITS Goa in Ph.D. programs along with common selection criteria:

Ph.D. Eligibility

There 3 ways to determine an applicant’s eligibility for admission to the Ph.D. program at BITS Goa. They are as follows:

• An overall aggregate of 60% in M.E./M.Tech/M.Pharm/MBA/M.Phil. in the qualifying examination.
• B.E./B.Pharm./M.Sc. with 60% of the total aggregate in the last qualifying exam.
• Admission to Humanities & Social Science requires applicants to have at least 55% in an M.A. degree. 

Ph.D. Application Process

Follow the given steps to apply for a doctoral program at BITS Goa:

• Apply via https://www.bitsadmission.com/phd/index.aspx.
• Applicants must register with valid email id for new registration.
• The aspirants will be asked to give preferences for the campus decision of which must be made carefully, as applications once submitted won’t allow any editing later on.
• An application fee of INR 2400 must be paid before submitting the application.

All scholarships offered are for one semester only. Award of scholarships in the subsequent semesters, depends completely upon the applicant’s performance in academics. 

Scholarships for Undergraduates

Around 30% of students admitted to the First Degree Program get semester tuition fee waivers, ranging between 25% to 100% in the form of either merit or merit-cum need-based scholarship. Some of them are mentioned below: 

• The Top 1% of students receive 100% of scholarships.
• The top 2% of the students are eligible for 40% of the total scholarship. 
• Percentage of students awarded scholarships under merit-cum need-based scholarship are:
  • Only 3% receive 80% of the scholarship.
  • Around 6% receive 40% of the scholarship.
  • 12% get 25% scholarship.
  • Only 6% get 15% of scholarship.

Scholarships for Postgraduates

The following scholarships are offered to students pursuing a postgraduate degree at BITS Goa:

• Applicants admitted through GATE are eligible for a tuition waiver of INR 13,400 per month.
• While students admitted through GATE are also offered a stipend of INR 13,400 monthly.
