Note: In this case, the candidates need to pass in more numbers of qualifying Pre- PhD papers. For detail refer Section 9.1 of Ph.D. Regulation 2018.
Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks for SC / ST candidates.
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra offers Ph.D. in sixteen specializations.
For admission to the Ph.D. program, candidate must be a holder of Master’s degree in the same/related field of research with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 in the qualifying degree examination.
While the candidates who wish to pursue Ph.D. after B.Tech. / B.E. / B.Sc. (Engg.)/ B.Pharm / B.Arch. or equivalent degree must be GATE qualified (80+) and have a minimum of 70% marks in the qualifying degree examination. Candidate with ten-year of experience with good research credentials are eligible for admission.
Selection of the candidates is in two phases. In the first phase, candidates will be shortlisted for the selection rounds based on academic profile and work experience, In the second phase, candidates will have to attend the General aptitude test and Personal Interview conducted by the institute.
The test shall contain 50 questions from analytical ability, logical reasoning and English Language. And 50 questions from the related subject.
