The appeared for the CEE entrance exam, that's a state base entrance exam for the students who wnats to pursue engineering in the state itself. I applied for other colleges such as Jorhat engineering college, Baneshwar Brahma engineering college and also got confirmed admission but choose Assam Engineering college as it has a higher placement opportunities tha other colleges. I didn't receive any rejection from any colleges as i only applied for admission on AEC and got admission immediately. The admission is a step wise process that starts with 6 rounds of counselling (which is basically a process through with one from any of the college you applied accepts your admission request) and than the actual admission then after that you can choose either to stay at hostel or not and after a month from the counselling process that class starts.
Specifiic aspects of curriculum are emphasis on practical application and project based learning, strong focus on core engineering subjects. Preparation for real world applications includes curriculum that provides a good foundation for industry ready Students feel prepared for further academic pursuits such as master's or research program. Some students suggest more emphasis on soft skills and entrepreneurship.
The total college fees for a 4 year program, spanning 8 semesters amouts to ?280000. However there's an additional requirement to renew admission every odd semester, incurring additional cost. The annual fess is ?40000 which need to be paid twice in a 2-year period, coinciding with the odd semester. These adds up to ?80000 over the entire four year period. Additionally, tuition fees of ?20000 is charged every year, which us included in the odd semester admission fees. A caution of ?500 is also taken from students every year. Notably ST/SC students are exempt from paying tution fees for the rest of the year. To calculate the total amount payable, you need to add the college fees, additional admission fees, tuition fees, caution fees and registration fees. Therefore, the total payable amount, including all these charges is ?280000(college fees)+?80000(additional admission fees)+?80000(tuition fees over 4 years)+?2000(caution fees over 4 years)+varying registration fees(upto to ?1000)

The faculty to student ratio at Assam Engineering college is around 1:15 which is relatively good for a government engineering college. Students generally report a positive and approachable relationship with the faculties. Professors are supportive and encouraging. Some of the popular faculties among students are Dr S K Dutta(mechanical engineering) known for his teaching style and subject expertise, Dr P K Bhattacharya (Electrical engineering) appriciated for his guidance and support. I don't particularly dislike any of the faculties as i find every individual to be querky and knowledgeable in their own way. There are two semester exam per year with mix of theory and practical exam. Exam difficulty varies depending on the subject and department. The failure rate is quite high around 35-45% in majority of the department. Course curriculum is generally considered relevant to industry needs with a focus in practical application. Some students feel that the curriculum can be more updated.

The course curriculum is rigid and at times very diffuse. But if you enjoy it then it may be easy for you.The professors provide notes and ppts so its not that difficult to pass the exams. The real world application of the labs is very prominently seen
