Many School managements in Rajasthan have met the state governor, Mr. Kalraj Mishra regarding the collection of tuition fees during the Covid 19 lockdown. The school management stated that the collection of tuition fees has led to a serious financial crisis.

Several school managements in Rajasthan including CBSE, Rajasthan Board of Education, and Missionary Schools are on indefinite strike from November 5 as they lack funds to pay salaries to their staff and face closure.

Sandeep Bakshi, a member of the forum of a private school in Rajasthan said that a delegation of private school management has met the governor for granting help in the situation.

Earlier, the forum sought the help of the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot but the government has ordered the school's Managements to abide by the Rajasthan High Court order.

A single bench of the high court had ordered schools to collect only 70% of tuition fees on September 9, 2020. The order was later stayed in October by a division bench of the high court.

The state government has issued orders for the Rajasthan schools authority and management to reduce tuition fees 30-40% in accordance with the reduced syllabus.

If the order was implemented it would bring a huge financial crisis to all the Rajasthan schools.

The forum demanded clarity on the part of the state government in the orders and said that it would affect 50,000 schools and 11 lakh employees.
