Former Softbank India Head Manoj Kohli Joins Masters' Union As Chairperson; Read More Here

New Delhi: Manoj Kohli, who previously served as the India Head of the Japanese multinational conglomerate and investment management company SoftBank has been named the New Chairman of Masters' Union.

As per Masters' Union, Manoj Kohli will give the educational institution strategic direction as well as leadership in his new role. The Gurgaon Headquartered Business School aims to sharpen its emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital evolution.

Speaking on this occasion, Manoj Kohli shared, "I have finished 44 years of work experience and left SoftBank in January. I've now committed to a new goal for the upcoming ten years: mentoring young entrepreneurs and serving as a CEO's corporate adviser to encourage organisational change and international scale-up.”

Earlier, Kohli served as the CEO of Bharti Airtel, one of the biggest mobile service providers in India, where he oversaw the company's expansion into Africa. Kohli has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the telecom and technology sectors. 

After working 16 years in the manufacturing industry and with a mobile firm Escotel, he joined Masters' Union with more than 40 years of experience. He played a key role in making Airtel become one of the biggest telecommunications companies while serving as the company's former CEO.

Additionally, he has served in a number of executive positions within the sector, most notably as a member of the board of SoftBank Group International. He was also the Chairman of the CII Task Force on Ease of Doing Business.

Among his accomplishments, Manoj Kohli also represented the GSMA Board in 2008 and 2012. He is currently chairman of the CII Unicorn Forum, which seeks to draw fresh funding in the technology sector to India.
