Prime minister Narendra Modi has introduced a new framework named SAFAL (structured assessment for analyzing learning levels), to assess the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students.

According to the CBSE, the new framework, SAFAL (structured assessment for analyzing learning levels), is a competency-based assessment framework to move away from the “rote-learning system” of heavy memorization. The Education Ministry said that the new framework will be used to assess around 50 lakh students in 25,000 CBSE schools across India.

Further, the ministry added that the SAFAL results will not be used in any manner by the schools for promoting students to the next grade.

During a live telecast, Prime minister Narendar Modi, said that with SAFAL, a scientific method for assessing students' intelligence has been developed, which will reduce the students' fear and anxiety towards exams. They will have the curiosity to pursue new skills, new innovations, and the possibilities will be endless.
