On January 12, parliamentary panel suggested to the Education Ministry that a "big question bank" should be provided to Board Exams 2021 students of Class 10 and 12 in advance.

Only the Selected questions from this question bank will come in the board exams 2021. This move is suggested aiming at attenuating students' learning gap in view of the COVID-19.

Government officials referred that there could be a substantial "learning gap" due to the pandemic and also mentioned that there have been reports that a lot of students missed online classes due to Internet issues in their locality.

Members of the panel also raised their opinion about the poor families who cannot afford smartphones or laptops to access online classes.

Panel chairman BJP MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe also suggested that the ministry should have promoted classes for various subjects through advertisements and other mediums. They said classes can be held by Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) on different platforms.

Sahasrabuddhe added that Doordarshan and AIR both have a wider reach across the country and are more cost-effective than the Internet.

The sources said that the given question bank should cover the entire curriculum and will contain questions which will assess both the analytical and logical abilities of the candidates.

Members also suggested that providing the question bank to students in advance would ease their anxiety and fear and solve the exam management-related issues among students.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has declared that the 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 would continue from May 5 to June 21. The exam timetable is expected to be released this month.
