CBSE and CISCE have faced strong opposition from the parents who demanded to cancel the examination owing to the increasing coronavirus cases in the country.

CBSE and ICSE board exams for classes 10 and 12 are scheduled for August 2020. However, parents want the result to be declared on the basis of internal assessment. On this matter, parents have also started an online campaign hashtagged "studentlivematter", "cancelboardexams", "livesoverexams".

Meanwhile, four parents of CBSE and CISCE students moved to the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the remaining CBSE and ICSE 2020 exams due to nationwide pandemic.

CBSE 2020 and ICSE 2020 exams are scheduled to be conducted from July 1, 2020 onwards. The revised date sheet for CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12 was released on May 18, 2020.

Parents have questioned that CBSE has canceled the class 10 and 12 exams for around 250 abroad schools and these students will be awarded marks on the basis of either practical exams conducted or internal assessment marks, then why the Board does not follow the same approach for students in India.

One of the concerned parents has also tweeted:

Union Human Resource Development Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that the CBSE class 10 and 12 results are expected to be declared by August 15, 2020.

On the other hand, CISCE Board is expected to deliver ICSE 10 and ICSE 12 results 2020 by July end.
