KCET Registration 2021 will commence online from the 5th of February, 2021 till the 2nd of March, 2021. Candidates who wish to register can fill the application form through the official website www.kea.kar.nic.in. KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is a state level examination conducted and regulated by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Every year between 1.5 lakh and 2 lakh students from all over India sit for this entrance exam. Almost 2 lakh candidates are expected to register this year. KCET is an entrance exam for admission into various undergraduate level programs (with the exception of medical and architecture) such as engineering, architecture, technology, pharmaceutical and other courses within numerous institutions in Karnataka.

  • The registration fee for candidates belonging to the general category is INR 500 and INR 250 for female candidates and aspirants belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST).

  • Candidates interested in engineering or technological courses must have acquired at least 45% in their 10+2 level with physics and mathematics as the main subjects and english as a mandatory requirement.

  • Candidates interested in B.Pharma courses must have acquired at least 50% marks in their 10+2 level with PCM/PCB as their main subjects and english as a mandatory requirement.

  • The mode of KCET examination is offline (pen and paper mode) and conducted in 2 days. On the first day mathematics paper is scheduled and on the second day, physics and chemistry papers are scheduled.

  • The Karnataka Examination Authority does not set a limit on the maximum number of times one can sit for the test. A candidate is allowed to take KCET only once a year. The upper age limit is 21 and 24 years depending on the level of the program. 

  • Documents that candidates are required to upload for KCET 2021 online registration are photograph, signature, thumb impression, and signature of parents in the format prescribed by KEA.

KCET 2021 Eligibility

Candidates interested in taking the KCET 2021 must qualify to appear for the examination. Those who fail to meet the eligibility requirements mentioned below will be disqualified by the KEA. 

KCET 2021 Eligibility For Engineering Courses:

  • Candidates belonging to all categories must have passed their 10+2 level or equivalent examination from a recognized board. 

  • Candidates belonging to general categories must have scored at least 45% in subjects compulsory such as physics and mathematics along with english as their language subject. 

  • If marks obtained in chemistry are less than the required aggregate, then marks obtained in subjects like Bio - Technology/Biology/Electronics/Computer Science will be taken into consideration.

  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST (reserved categories), there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement (40% minimum marks). 

  • Candidates must have also studied either one of these subjects additionally: Biology/Biotechnology/Electronics/Chemistry/Computer Science

  • Candidates who are waiting for their class 12 or boards final examination result are also eligible to register themselves. 

KCET 2021 Eligibility For B. Pharma Courses:

  • Candidates belonging to all categories must have passed their 10+2 level or equivalent examination from a recognized board. 

  • Candidates belonging to general categories must have scored at least 50% in subjects compulsory such as physics/chemistry/mathematics (PCM) or physics/chemistry/biology (PCB) along with english as their language subject. 

  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST (reserved categories), there is a 10% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement if the student belongs to PCB group (45% minimum marks). 

  • Candidates who are waiting for their class 12 or boards final examination result are also eligible to register themselves. 

How to Apply

KCET Registration 2021 - How to Apply

Candidates are advised to use a good browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge of the latest versions to apply online. It is also recommended to use a personal computer or laptop while filling the form and avoid small devices such as mobile phones or tablets for the same. 

Candidates can to follow the given steps below to fill the registration form online:

  • Go to the official website of KCET; www.kea.kar.nic.in

  • You will find a link to CET 2021 under flash news. Click on that link. 

  • Then click on the CET - 2021 Online Application Link to start your application.

  • You will find the information booklet with instruction in both english and kannada. 

  • Scroll down and click on the “New user? Click here to register” link. 

  • This will open a popup window with all the instructions. Read them carefully and click on the “proceed to apply online” link. 

  • In the following page, select your citizenship (only Indian citizens are eligible).

  • Then enter your 13 digit student number if you have appeared for Karnataka 2nd PUC annual examination and submit. 

  • Select no if the above does not apply. 

  • Fill in the other details such as your name, date of birth, contact number, email address, and create a username and password. Select the secret question and answer the question.

  • Enter your aadhar number, type in the captcha and submit.

  • The next window will display your application number and user id. Click on the login link to continue.

The steps to fill KCET application form online are detailed below:

  1. Login 

  • Enter your user id, password, and captcha security code in this window na submit. 

  • In the following page, another form with the details already entered will be displayed. 

  • Some new details such as father’s name, mother’s name, correspondence address and alternate mobile phone number have to be filled in. 

  • Select if you have appeared for this examination previously and click on the “save and next” button. 

  1. Reservation details

  • In the next form select Select the disciplines you are interested in (Engineering and allied courses, architecture, medical, and B. Pharma)

  • Select a few more details such as religion, mother’s tongue, caste, family income. 

  • Enter the type of quota you are applying for (religious or linguistic minority)

  • Enter the details related to caste as applicable. All details of caste list under Karnataka government will be linked in the form.

  • From the list select your caste category. 

  • Save and continue.

  • Enter details related to your education such as qualifying examination, board name, and school name.

  • Next, enter your year of graduation, number of years studied in Karnataka, and if you have studied in Karnataka medium. 

  • Enter the registration number of class 10 if you have studied in Karnataka, the in which you have appeared, and the district.
