KCET 2025 PAPER ANALYSIS
STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
KCET 2023 Paper Analysis: KEA conducts KCET for the four papers – Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry generally in the month of June. Candidates may check the detailed KCET 2023 Paper Analysis of the Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry paper in this article after the completion of the exam.
KCET 2023 question papers of four subjects (Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) consists of 60 objective-type questions. Out of which 45+ questions of Biology, 30 questions of Mathematics, 35 questions of Physics, and 45 questions of Chemistry were easy to attempt. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking for unattempted/wrong answers. The paper analysis will help the candidates to get an idea about the difficulty level of the exam. As per the general student's reactions, the Biology and Chemistry paper are easy to moderate and the paper is not time-consuming. But, the Mathematics and Physics papers are lengthy and difficult. Physics Paper Analysis:
KCET 2022 Physics paper has been conducted on June 17, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:50 AM. The paper analysis of KCET 2022 Physics paper is updated below.
Chemistry Paper Analysis:
KCET 2022 Chemistry paper has been conducted on June 17, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM. The paper analysis of the Chemistry question paper is mentioned below:
Dr. Milind Chippalakatti, National Head - Knowledge Management, Deeksha said, "Overall the paper was easy. An average student can score about 30-35 marks out of 60 marks. Only a few questions were a bit difficult. There were no out-of-syllabus questions and all were framed as per the NCERT textbook. It was also easy in comparison to last year as the questions were memory and conceptual-based. Assertion Reasoning and statement-based questions were not given this year. There were no errors with the question paper."
According to Dr. Milind Chippalakatti - National Head, Knowledge Management (Deeksha), the Physics question paper was difficult compared to the last year. According to him the difficulty level of the paper is as follows-
Difficult Questions | 4 |
Moderate Questions | 13 |
Easy Questions | 43 |
KCET 2021 physics paper was held from 10:30 am to 11:50 am and the chemistry paper was conducted from 2:30 pm to 3:50 pm on August 29, 2021. Candidates can check the initial reaction of the test takers:
KCET 2019 was conducted successfully on April 29 & 30. Students had mixed reactions towards the exam. While some said the exam was of moderate difficulty level others believed that exam was easy and quite high scoring. All the sections in the exam had moderate difficulty levels. However, Physics and Chemistry had a comparatively higher number of questions from class 12th.
Mathematics: The paper was easy to solve and most of the questions were asked from the prescribed syllabus of First and Second year PUC as per the claims made by some of the experts. Judging by reactions of several students, 40 questions can be categorized as easy while remaining 15 were of medium difficulty and 5 were difficult questions
Biology: A vast majority of questions were from class 12th (almost 75%) while only 15 questions were asked from class 11th syllabus. Again, the questions were strictly based on the first and second year PUC curriculum. The paper was not very lengthy and an attempt of 45 to 50 questions could be considered quite good.
Overall, both the papers were of easy to moderate difficulty level without too many tricky questions.
Physics: Like Biology, topics from the second year PUC curriculum predominated in the Physics Paper. A well-prepared student could easily get 80-85% questions correct. Although, some candidates claimed that as many as 10% questions fall in the difficult category. However, no major hiccups are expected as all questions fall well within the curriculum of 2 years of PUC.
Chemistry: As per the candidates, the Chemistry paper was equally balanced to favor all the aspirants. The majority of questions were conceptual and easy to solve. This year, lots of numerical questions were asked in the examination. The paper had 17 questions from the first and the rest from the second year PUC Curriculum. Read More KCET 2019 Syllabus
Based on last year’s patterns, the overall analysis deduced that the exam was more difficult than expected with 60 questions which were to be solved within 80 min. This year, candidates needed to buckle up to get good scores.
This analysis will provide some knowledge about the important topics which should be emphasized on and the level of the exam.
Physics: “The exam was well-structured. A perfect combination of conceptual and application-based questions. Only Electrostatics was believed to be tricky”. This is the response of a student about the subject.
Chemistry: This year, the paper was tough when compared to other sections. Experts predict that normally, a well-prepared student could achieve success. Looking back at the last year, one must not take any chances and study thoroughly by practicing more conceptual questions as compared to application-based questions.
Mathematics: Unexpectedly, Mathematics was the easiest amongst all. Any candidate who had prepared well had a great chance to score well in this paper.
Given below are the most important topics which one should not exclude from their preparation schedule, based on the previous years papers.
