KEA (Karnataka Education Authority) will be inviting applications from NEET 2018 rank holders seeking admission in MBBS/BDS programs offered by various medical colleges of Karnataka. All the desirous applicants need to participate in the Karnataka CET 2018 counselling process.

  • From 2017-18 academic session onwards, KEA will not hold separate entrance examination for admission to MBBS and BDS courses following supreme court’s historic judgment on single common entrance test (NEET UG) for medical courses.
  • However, KCET will be conducted for all other courses as usual such as Engineering, ISMH, Farm Science, BV.Sc and B.Pharm.
  • Candidates who qualify in NEET 2018 and have a domicile of Karnataka state are eligible to obtain admission in MBBS and BDS courses based on their NEET score.
  • For the academic year 2018, NEET has been successfully conducted on May 6, 2018 and the result was declared on June 4, 2018

Note: Candidates registered with KCET 2018 and who have also appeared for NEET 2018, are required to enter their roll number and registration number of NEET 2018 on the official website of KEA. Such candidates don’t have to register or pay the fee again.


KCET 2018 Counselling Eligibility (Medical)

Before filling the KCET 2018 Application Form candidates must fulfill the following KCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria set up by the conducting body:

  • The admission to medical and dental courses depends on your NEET 2018 score. So, all those who attempted NEET exam are invited to register themselves on KCET’s official portal (kea.kar.nic.in) for admission.
  • Candidates must have scored atleast 50% in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Reserved category candidates are given a relaxation of 10% in this aggregate score.
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 50 percentile in NEET (40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category)

KCET 2018 Counselling Application Process (Medical)

To apply for KCET Medical Counselling, candidates need to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website kea.kar.nic.in and choose “Online Registration for NEET Appeared Candidates”
  2. Click on “New User? Click Here to Register” displayed on the home page of your online application form. Fill in all the required information.
  3. Then click on “submit” option
  4. After the Login Prompt is shown, you are required to enter the User ID and Password 
  5. You will be logged in successfully. Look for “Student information” and add the details.
  6. Save the information provided
  7. The applicants have to enter their study details and choose “Save and Next” button.
  8. Now, you will be asked to upload your scanned passport size photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression and your parent’s signature. Then select “Save and Next” button.
  9. Then take a printout of the challan copy which is in triplicate.
  10. Applicants of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of INR 650 for General and OBC (INR 500/- for SC / ST). The fees have to be paid the in any of the branch of specified Banks / e-Post Office.
  11. The bank / e-Post Office will keep their copy of the challan and return the remaining two copies of the challan back to the applicants.
  12. Take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of paper.
  13. Attach your latest passport size photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression in the space provided.
  14.  Candidates have to get the principal seal and signature from the college where they have studied 10+2 or equivalent exam

Question 1: Can I apply for KCET by visiting the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) office?

Answer: No, there is no such provision of offline application forms. Candidates must fill up the application form online by visiting the official website of KEA i.e. www.kea.kar.nic.in.

Question 2: Is it necessary to apply separately for 2 courses such as Medical and Engineering?

Answer: Not necessary as application form is common for all the courses.

Question 3: What happens if any column is left blank while filling the Application Form?

Answer: It will be rejected, just verify that every column has been filled before submitting the application.

Question 4: Can I send my requisition through courier for obtaining CET application?

Answer: No, envelops sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangements will not be accepted by KEA.

Question 5: What to do when columns not relevant to me is left blank in the application form?

Answer: Candidate must not leave the column blank. If the column is not relevant to them, they must write ‘Not Applicable’ in that particular column.

Question 6: Whom must I contact for clarification regarding entry of option during the counselling time?

Answer: Candidates can contact KEA over telephone. Once the process of document verification starts Helpline will be established in KEA office for all queries and distress calls; further candidate can also send their questionnaires to KEA e‐mail keauthority‐ka@nic.in All your queries will be attended on day to day basis. Or you can visit any nearest helpline centre and clarify the doubts.

Question 7: How many times I can change the entry of options?

Answer: Before the last date prescribed for entry of options candidate can change the options as many number of times they want to change.

Question 8: What i need to do if I loose my verification slip after verification?

Answer: Contact the helpline centre where you have verified your documents as it is an important document which may be required for all other future work.
