Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra on behalf of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. MHT CET 2020 is conducted at a State level entrance test every year to offer admission in various government and private institutions situated in the state of Maharashtra.

  • Candidates can take admission in Engineering, Agriculture & Pharmacy programmes through MHT CET.
  • As per the changes made by DTE Maharashtra, MH CET will be conducted in online CBT mode.
  • Last day to apply for MHT CET 2020 Application will be in the last week of March while the exam will be in the first week of June 2020. 

MHT CET 2020: Exam Dates

The online application process for MHT CET 2020 is expected to start from the second week of February 2020 and continue till the last week of March 2020. MHT CET 2020 Examination will be conducted in the second week of May 2020(tentative). Tentative Important dates of MHT CET 2020 is given below:

MHT CET 2020: Preparation Tips

To score well and qualify MH CET 2020, candidates can take help of the given below preparation tips:

  • Make a proper timetable for the exam preparation before starting.
  • Review the complete syllabus and understand the exam and marking pattern.
  • Make short notes for each chapter while preparing.
  • It is very important for you to clear your concepts, as the questions can be set in any manner. When the concepts are clear it won’t be difficult to answer even the twisted questions.
  • After learning the concepts and syllabus, you should attempt mock test and sample paper to get an idea about your preparation and exam pattern.
  • Revise all the topics you have studied at the end of the day.

What Books Should You Read to Prepare for MHT CET 2020?

As MHT CET 2020 is conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, all aspirants must first of all go through all the State board books at least once before referring to any other books.

NCERT books and State board books for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology is best while preparing for MHT CET. Candidates can also refer to other books available but they should not ignore NCERT  and State Board books.


MHT CET 2020: Exam Pattern & Syllabus

MHT CET 2020 will be organised as an online Computer Based Test(CBT). The question paper will cover the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Approximately 20% weightage will be given to class 11th curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to class 12th curriculum while setting the question paper. MHT CET holds 3 Papers - Paper 1(Mathematics), Paper 2(Physics & Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology). Students who wish to pursue a career in Pharmacy must appear for Paper 2 and can choose between Paper 1 and paper 3.

MHT CET 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for MHT CET 2020, candidates must check the eligibility criteria set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Only those candidates who will satisfy the eligibility criteria will be eligible to appear in MHT CET 2020.

Here are the Eligibility Criteria of MAH B.Ed CET 2020 which is given as follow.

Maharashtra State Candidates:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidate must have passed HSC/class XII exam or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks(for General Category) and at least 45% marks(for reserved category and Persons with Disability candidates)
  • There is no age limit.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (HSC/XII) in 2020 are considered eligible.

Other State Candidates:

  • The candidate should be an Indian National.
  • All the candidates including backward class candidates having passed Class XII/Equivalent from any board other than Maharashtra University will be considered as Open Category Candidates.
  • Candidate must have passed HSC/class XII exam or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects and must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • There is no age limit.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (HSC/XII) in 2020 are considered eligible.

MHT CET 2020: Application Form

MH CET 2020 application form will be released in the second week of February 2020 tentatively. Aspirants can complete the registration process through the official website of MHT CET 2020. Applicants will have to enter his/her personal details, educational details, contact details, medium of language, choice of paper and exam center city. Candidates will also have to upload his/her photograph, signature and other required documents as asked. After completing these steps, candidates will have to pay the application fee to confirm their candidature. The last date to fill and submit the application form will be in the fourth week of March 2020.

Note:

  • Candidates are advised to read the information brochure available on the website before beginning the registration process.
  • In case more than one application forms are submitted, the Board will treat the last submitted application form as valid.

MHT CET 2020 Application Fee

Candidates can pay the application fee by any online system through internet banking/Debit/Credit Card/UPI payment. Fee once paid will not be refunded in any case. Candidates may check the application fees below:

MHT CET 2020: Admit Card

A candidate who has successfully filled the application form and whose application has been accepted will be able to download MHT CET 2020 Admit card. Candidates can download the Admit Card from the official website from the fourth week of April 2020.

Steps to download the Admit card are given below:-

  • Go to the official website.
  • Click on the link referred to as MHT CET 2020 Admit card(Hall Ticket or Admission Ticket).
  • Enter details, Application Number and your password.
  • Login and download the Admit Card for examination.
  • Print the Admit Card on A4 sheet.

MHT CET 2020: Answer  Key

After the exam commencement, the conducting authority will publish the answer key on the website. In order to calculate marks. MHT CET Answer Key will be useful in predicting  scores in the entrance test.

MHT CET 2020: Cutoff

MHT CET 2020 Cutoff is the minimum score required to secure admission in the various colleges offering admission through MHT CET 2020 score in Maharastra. The cut off will depend on a lot of factors such as:

  • The number of applicants,
  • the number of seats available,
  • Previous year cut off marks and the difficulty levels of the entrance test.

MHT CET 2020 cutoff will be published along with the result.

MHT CET 2020: Result

MHT CET 2020 Result will be released will be announced on the official portal by the exam conducting body. Applicants will be ableto check MHT CET 2017 results in the first week of June 2020. Candidates who will clear the MHT CET cutoff will be eligible to attend the counselling process.

Based on the marks of candidates, a merit list will also be published on the official website.

MHT CET 2020: Counselling

MHT CET 2020 Counselling Process will start after shortlisting the eligible candidates in the merit list. The counselling process will begin soon after the results are declared in the first week of June 2020.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Governmwill conduct Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in various rounds. According to the rank of the candidates, seats will be allotted to candidates.

Candidates’ document will also be verified during the counselling process. Candidates are advised to carry all the required documents for verification at the time of Counselling.
