MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a common state level entrance examination conducted by the state Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra every year. This is a state level examination through which qualified students can get admission to B.Tech/ B.E, Pharma D and B.Pharmacy courses in different fields including Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture etc.

MHT CET is an online examination in which the candidates have to appear for three papers i.e. Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3 respectively. MHT CET 2021-Examination Dates

MHT CET 2021 is a state level examination conducted by the Government of Maharashtra through which students can get admission in different B.Tech, BE and B.Pharma courses in more than 300 institutes across Maharashtra.

The exam will be operated at 36 exam centers in Maharashtra. While registering for the exam, candidates can choose their preferred exam centers.

The tentative dates for the online examination are out. The exam will be conducted in the 1st week of May 2021.


MHT CET 2021-Eligibility

Before applying for the MHT CET 2021, candidates must check the eligibility criteria set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Only those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the online examination. Below is the eligibility of MHT CET. Students should take a quick view of all the details before making an application.

  • Nationality: The candidates applying for the examination should be the citizen of India.

  • State Candidates: The Candidates must have the Birth Certificate/ Domicile Certificate/ Residential Certificate that is issued by the Government of Maharashtra and is eligible for the MHT CET 2021.

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

  • Qualifying Marks: The candidate must have qualified the exam with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in the qualifying exam.

  • Eligibility: The candidates have been in the final year of their Qualifying Exam are also eligible. For Mining Engineering Course, female candidates are not eligible to apply.

  • Age limit: There is no age limit to appear in MHT CET 2021.

For Engineering Courses:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or HSC examination with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

  • Students should secure minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates).

  • Students should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category).

  • Candidates should obtain qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 1 (All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates).

For Pharmacy courses:

  • Applicant must have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject.

  • For candidates of general category, the minimum percentage criterion is 45% and for reserved category, it is 40%.

MHT CET 2021-Appliction Process

Students can apply for the MHT CET 2021 online examination by visiting the online application portal. The registration for the MHT CET examination will begin in the 2nd week of February 2021. The last date to apply and submit the application form is the 4th week of March 2021.

The application process to apply for the MHT CET examination include these steps:

Step 1: Registration for the examination:

  • Visit the official website of MHT CET and look for a ‘registration link’.

  • Click on ‘new user’ and enter details like email ID, phone number, password, etc.

  • Candidates will get a unique user id and password on the registered email id or contact number.

Step 2: Form Filling:

  • After registering for MHT CET, Students are required to fill the MHT CET 2021 application form and provide their personal and academic details carefully before submitting them. Also, reservation information needs to be filled along with other details.

Step 3: Uploading documents:

  • Candidates are required to upload their passport size photograph clicked on a white background and a scanned copy of their signature. The photograph size should be in .jpg format ranging from 15kb-50 kb. The signature should be done with black ink and should be scanned at 200 dpi. The size of the signature should range from 5kb-20kb.

Step 4: Payment of Application Fee:

  • Students can make the payment of the application fee via online as well as offline mode. Students will be able to pay the application fee through online mode by internet banking/debit/credit card. The offline payment can be done through e-challan which will be generated automatically.

For General/ J&K Migrants/ OMS candidates – Rs. 800

For ST/ SC/ OBC/ PWD/ NT/ SBC candidates – Rs. 600


MHT CET 2021-Admit Card

MHT CET 2021 Admit Card will be released through online mode for the candidates to download. The MHT CET 2021 Admit Card will be released in the 4th week of April 2021. MHT CET 2021 Admit Card will be available only for the candidates who have successfully registered for the entrance test.

To download the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card, students have to visit the official website and login with credentials they have created at the time of the registration. Students must affix their photograph on the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card after downloading it from the web portal.

Students must verify the details present on the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card. All the details mentioned on the hall ticket must be correct. If there is any detail on the MHT CET Hall Ticket is wrong, Candidates must contact the official authority before the exam date. Candidates must bring the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card on the day of the exam along with the government ID proof. No student will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card.

MHT CET 2021-Exam Pattern

  • MHT CET 2021 will be organized as an online Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • The online examination will consist of the following three papers.

Paper 1: Mathematics

Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry

Paper 3: Biology

  • The candidates looking for admission into B.Tech / B.E course need to attempt the Paper 1 and Paper 2. For admission into B.Pharmacy and Pharma D course, the candidates have to attempt the Paper 2 along with any one of Paper 1 or Paper 3.

  • The question paper will cover the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

  • Approximately 20% weight will be given to class 11th curriculum and 80% weight will be given to class 12th curriculum while setting the question paper.

  • The questions will be Multiple Choice Objective (MCQ) types.

  • No penalty will be levied for wrong answers.

  • The duration of the exam is of 2 hours.

  • There will be a total of 150 questions in the examination.

  • The exam will be a total of 150 marks.

  • The question paper will be in two languages English and Marathi

MHT CET 2021-Syllabus

The syllabus of MHT CET will consist of topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology subjects. The syllabus for the MHT CET examination of various subjects is given below:

Physics:

Measurements, Friction in solids and liquids, Scalars and Vectors, Force, Ray optics, Magnetism, Refraction of Light, Magnetic effect of electric current, etc.

Chemistry:

States of Matter: Gases and liquids, Surface chemistry, Hydrogen, Some basic concepts of chemistry, Basic principles and techniques in organic chemistry, Redox reaction, Nature of chemical bond, Alkanes, S-Block elements (Alkali and alkaline earth metals), etc.

Mathematics:

Trigonometric functions, Circle and Conics, Trigonometric functions of Compound Angles, Factorization Formulae, Relations and Functions, Straight Line, Sets, Sequences and series, Probability, etc.

Biology:

Botany – Diversity in organisms, Plant Growth and Development, Plant Water Relations and Mineral Nutrition, Biochemistry of cell.

Zoology – Organization of Cell, Animal tissues, Human Nutrition, Human Respiration.


MHT CET 2021-Preparation Tips

Preparation for any entrance test requires hard work as well as the smart work. Candidates can follow the below given preparation tips to prepare for the entrance test:

  • First of all, Students should have the complete information about the exam pattern, syllabus and the marking scheme of the examination they are appearing for.

MHT CET 2021-Counselling

The MHT CET 2021 Counselling will be based on the CAP (Centralized Admission Process). The tentative dates to begin the MHT CET 2021 Counselling has been out. It has been announced that the counselling for the MHT CET 2021 will be started from the 1st week of June 2021. The candidates who have been selected in the merit list for being eligible for the counselling process.

  • The allotment of seats will be according to the merit and preference of seats.

  • After the allotment of the seats, the candidates have to apply for the Verification of documents and uploading and confirmation of application form.

  • Registration of MHT CET Counselling includes the following 6 steps:

  • The first two rounds will be through CAP.

  • The 3rd offline round will be only for Maharashtra state candidates. In the third level counselling, the reserved seats will be treated as General seats.

  • Candidates will be required to fill preference form for counselling rounds to indicate the choice of colleges and courses in decreasing order of preference.


MHT CET 2021-Answer Key

The answer key for the MHT CET will be released by the conducting authority after few days of the examination. Candidates can check the answer key for each set of questions from the official site. Candidates can download the answer key by entering the password and registration ID.

MHT CET 2021 Result

The conducting authority of the MHT CET 2021 will release the result in the month of June 2021. Candidates can check their results from the official web site. To check the result candidates will have to enter the application number and password. The result will contain a name, application variety, folks name, category, Section wise score and overall percentile of the candidate. According to the marks of the candidate, merit list is going to be revealed by the Board on the web site. Qualified candidates are going to be shortlisted within the merit list for counselling method.
