The admission process at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai (SIMSR) for PGDM 2021-23 will begin from the 1st week of February and will close in the first week of March 2021. Students who appeared for XAT 2021/CAT/CMAT/GMAT can apply till February 7, 2021, for the current PGDM session. The admission criteria for the PGDM program will be based on a common admission process where candidates will be scored and measured on the basis of their past academic records, their achievements, and their work experience.
- Candidates who partake in the selection process will be assessed on the basis of a group discussion round as well as a personal interview. After the merit list of all the finalists has been released, candidates will be able to fill their program preferences online.
- Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds will commence from the end of February to the start of March 2021.
- The application fee for Indian Residents is INR 2850/- (+ applicable transactional charges) and for NRI / FN / OCI / CIWGC applicants it’s INR 3850.
The institute offers a 2 year full-time PGDM and candidates have the option to opt for a specialization in the following categories: Financial Services, International Business, Communication, Retail Management, or Health Care Management. It also offers executive and doctoral programs that are management-oriented.

- At least 50% marks in degree from a university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) / AICTE.
- Candidate should have appeared for XAT 2021 / CAT 2020 / GMAT / CMAT 2021
- Final year students who will appear for their final exams in April-May 2021 can also apply.
- If a final year student has offered admission then he/she has to submit the mark sheets or degree certificates before July 31, 2020, provided by the college.
- Work experience is not mandatory.

Admission ProcessStep 1: Eligibility Candidates have to appear for XAT 20201 Other eligible exams to get admission in KJ Somaiya are CAT 2020, CMAT 2021, To get admission to KJ Somaiya, the candidate has to fill the online application form. The program preferences will be asked from the students after the declaration of merit list. Step 2: Shortlist for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Check Selection procedure for XAT 2021
- The shortlisting of candidates will be based on XAT 2021 scores.
- Then shortlisted candidates have to fill the Candidate Profile Form & submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP).
Step 3: GD/PI Process
- GD-PI Process will be conducted in different cities across India so students can select the city of their choice.
- Case-based Group Discussion and In-depth Personal Interview will be conducted.
- Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries, CIWGC - GD & PI process will be held at SIMSR, Mumbai
- NRI or FN or PIO candidates Personal Interview will be done by Skype or in-person (based on convenience).
Step 4: Merit List Declaration Declaration of consolidated merit rank of the candidate will be announced. Candidates will have to fill program preference details online. Step 5: Final Admission Candidates will be offered the choice of the program based on their preference, merit rank, and availability of seats.

- Candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process once they clear the cutoff for XAT 2021 or other entrance exams such as CMAT 2021, GMAT, and CAT 2020.
- To calculate the final score following weights will be given to the parameters. The preference will be given to the scores of the entrance exam and the second most preferred will be the candidate’s performance in the personal interview.
- Every candidate’s position on the merit list will be decided based on their profile and their performance in the GD and PI. Afterward, candidates can choose a program in the counseling round based on their performance. Seats will be allocated to candidates on the basis of their merit rank, seat availability and the other choices will be given a waitlist number.
