On January 12, Delhi High Court dismissed the plea for CBSE Board Exams 2021 to be held in online mode. The Court has stated to the Centre and the Central Board of Secondary Education to consider the petition filed by parents association of the private school as representation or matter being withdrawn.

A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh in the hearing declared that they are not going to entertain this PIL and suggested that Centre and CBSE should consider the matter to be withdrawn, otherwise the Court will dismiss the plea with charges.

The parents association filed the petition asking to do away with the physical exams for CBSE Board Exams 2021 considering Covid 19 pandemic. The petition further stated to conduct CBSE Class 12 Board Exams in online mode or by open book method.

The PIL also suggested to dispense CBSE class 10 board exams totally and students should be evaluated based on their internal assessment.

Thereafter, the court instructed the Centre, represented by central government standing counsel Ajay Digpaul and advocate Kamal Digpaul, and CBSE to take a decision in agreement with the government policy applicable to the facts of this case and according to Indian Law. 

The bench also instructed the center and CBSE to take a practical decision, disposing of the plea as soon as possible.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the dates for the CBSE board exams 2021 of Class 10, 12.
