Hyderabad: Students in many schools are waiting for practical classes to be conducted physically since only two months are left for practical exams to begin for Class 12 students of CBSE schools across the state.

Few schools are conducting practical classes online. However, parents stated that unless students get to do experiments physically, it would be a difficult task to perform well in CBSE Practical exams.

Prashanth P, whose son is studying in a private school in the city, states, “My son’s schools said that they will start practical classes by the end of January. I am not sure if a month would be sufficient to do all the practical work.”

Some of the teachers at CBSE affiliated schools informed that instead of teaching all experiments, they would focus on a few important ones so students can take the exams without difficulty.

Apart from a few top schools, others are not equipped to teach all the practical work to students in a month. So, we are asked to select a few important ones and ensure that all students know how to do those experiments,” added a teacher, who teaches science stream students.

On the other hand, Principals informed that Physical Practical classes would start after Sankranthi vacation is over in most schools, and the syllabus would be finished in a week or two after classes began.

Students have already submitted their records and have seen teachers and a few of their peers doing experiments in live classes. So, it would not take more than a week for us to complete teaching all the practical classes in batches,” informed Simi Nagi, principal, Pallavi Model School, Alwal.

Further, she added that schools that have not finished the record work might find it challenging to complete teaching the full syllabus in time.
