On the question, whether the teachers would get 1 month of classroom coaching before the exam, Ramesh Pokhriyal said that since no exams would be held in January or February, a good amount of time is available for students and authorities to prepare for the exam.

The Education Minister answered many queries of the teachers as well as the students in the webinar. He also outlined the steps being taken by the ministry for the successful conduct of the CBSE board exams 2021.

While many teachers want the CBSE board exams 2021 to be postponed, most of them just want clarity on the situation. The teachers suggested that online exams could be held, however, their suggestion was rejected by the minister.

The minister highlighted how the teachers have helped the students in the Covid-19 pandemic and appreciated teachers for using innovative teaching techniques to bridge the gap between online and classroom learning.

While most of the students have moved to online platforms, such services are not available to all the students. This was one of the reasons why the idea of online exams was scrapped.

Mrs. Rai, Principal of AIS, said, “Courses are complete, schools are closed and students are waiting for exams to be postponed! There is no clarity on whether exams would be pushed to May or would it be the end of March or the usual! Giving some date is very important,”

She also added that scrapping practicals in January or February was a wise decision since most of the students were still not in classes.

Other requests from the students include the cancellation of the Board Examination for Class 10. The Bihar Board students have asked the Education Minister to postpone the examination dates.
