IIT JAM 2025 RESERVATION
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IIT JAM 2023 Reservation Criteria: A certain number of seats are reserved by different colleges for candidates belonging to various categories. For example, IIT Bhilai has reserved a total of 12 seats for various categories for admission in M.Sc. Chemistry programs. Candidates can take the benefits of IIT JAM Reservation during the time of counselling process. Check IIT JAM Counselling.
If a candidate comes under SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS category then he/she must submit the proof during the time of the application process. The category-wise list is prepared on the basis of the category selected at the time of registration. OBC-NCL/EWS Category and PwD candidates with at least 40% permanent physical impairment are also required to mention the category along with a certificate in the prescribed format only.
Candidates claiming Reservation in IIT JAM must submit required documents supporting their claim. Failing to do so can lead to the candidature for admission under the reserved category. Candidates who will have valid IIT JAM 2023 score only they will be eligible for admissions in respective institutes. IIT JAM participating institutes to increase seats for various programmes.

PwD candidates are allowed to use assistive devices like Abacus, Braille Slate, Hearing Aid, Wheelchair, Magnifier etc. However, the coordinating body will not arrange the assistive devices, they must make their own arrangements of such devices at test centres on their own. Candidates with disability can avail compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination. One hour of compensatory time is availed to the PwD candidates.
A scribe (reader) is also provided to candidates if needed. Candidates can take assistance from the same. Following instructions should be followed while providing Scribe to candidates.

Answer: No. Authorities do no provide the service of the scribe. Candidates need to arrange their own scribe during the time of examination.
