    IIAD Entrance Exam (iDAT) 2023 Exam Pattern, Syllabus

    IIAD Entrance Exam “Design Aptitude Test (iDAT)” is a qualifying entrance test for admission to Bachelor degree courses in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design, and Communication Design, offered by Indian Institute of Art & Design, New Delhi. IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on April 20 to 21, 2023 in online mode while the on campus entrance test will also be conducted on April 22, 2023.

    The entrance comprises two sections, which have Objective types - multiple-choice questions, Drawing & Sketching, and Descriptive answer questions.

    • Maximum marks are 200 and marks allotted to each correct answer are distinct as per the type of the question.
    • Negative marking scheme is not applicable in IIAD Entrance Exam 2023.
    • IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 test paper will be based on 02 subjects. Each section has distinct numbers of questions.

    IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 Exam is designed to test a candidates’ imagination, creativity, presentation skills, writing skills, logical decision-making power, design, and drawing ability.

    • There are 02 sections in test paper of IIAD 2023 Entrance Exam (iDAT).
    • Section A is for logical reasoning and Section B is for Creative Thinking & Problem Solving.
    • Each Section has different numbers of questions, maximum marks for each questions, and obviously weightage also.

    • Maximum marks allotted for IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 are 200 marks
    • 100 marks are assigned to each section
    • The test papers will be consisting of different types of questions i.e. Objective type, Descriptive type, and Drawing
    • Distribution of marks varies according to the type of questions
    • Objective type questions will carry 01 mark for right answer
    • Question for Descriptive type answer or Drawing based questions may carry 5 or more marks

    IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 - Important Instructions

    Following are the General Instructions for IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 a candidate must follow:

    • Candidates are advised to reach at examination center at least 30 minutes before commencement of IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 examination.  
    • Do not open the sealed Response Sheet and question paper before the receiving the instructions from invigilator.
    • Read instructions carefully to mark responses on Response Sheet.
    • Marks in circles for responses should be made with Blue or Black Ball Pen Ink.
    • Making changes to your responses in OMR sheet is not possible, so mark answers carefully.
    • No smudge marks or rough should be done on the question paper
    • Check pages of Question paper and Response Sheet, if there is any issue, immediately bring it to the notice of the Invigilator and get it changed.
    • Candidate will have to bring some accessories as per the requirements of the test paper:
    1. Pens / Pencils
    2. Dry Colours (Pencils / Paste)
    3. A Ruler
    4. Sketch Pen / Coloured Pen
    5. Gluestick
    6. A small pair of Scissors
    • Blank paper sheets will be provided to the candidates for creating drawings and doing rough work.
    • Answer scripts should be submitted to the invigilators after completion of scheduled time.
