Post Graduate Diploma in Retail Management (PGDM-RM) is a 1-year distance learning course or 2 years full-time course. It mainly focuses on the fundamentals of retail management and marketing practices. The minimum eligibility requirements for this postgraduate diploma is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Even in 2020, which was a challenging year, the students of Insurance and Retail were offered some quality profiles by multiple prominent recruiters. The PGDM in Retail Management at KJ Somaiya is a relatively new course and not much can be said about its worth. But I have a friend who is currently pursuing RM at KJ Somaiya. According to him, it’s a good choice for someone with interest in this field to pursue this course because

  • The courses at SIMSR are at par with international curriculum.
  • Great exposure and learning through events held throughout the year. One such main event is the Retail Mela.
  • Many committees and student clubs have been set up to promote extracurricular activities 
  • The faculty is experienced and qualified. It does not undervalue the new courses at all.
  • One of the best campuses of India with great infrastructure and facilities.
  • The companies that you should aim for are Ikeya, Walmart ,Future Etc.

All this makes the course worth trying.
