BSc Hons is an undergraduate course of science stream which provides training and knowledge to the students in one specific domain of science like Biology, Computer Science, Geography, Economics, etc.
The course duration is of 3 years which is divided into 6 semesters, the admission of which is usually done on the basis of Merit, although some universities take admission through entrance exams as well.

The course curriculum of BSc Honours course is majorly divided into:
- Classroom Training: Classroom sessions are taken where the learning is done with by covering the topics included in the syllabus with the help of lectures, class discussions, presentations, etc.
- Lab Sessions/Practical Training: Lab Training is an important aspect of BSc Hons course since it provides practical knowledge and increases your skills in a particular domain such as Applied Physics, Botany, Chemistry, etc. Students are judged on the basis of their performance in the experiments and viva voce.
- Assignments: Teachers are required to give either monthly assignments or subject wise assignments to the students so that their research skills and knowledge in that area are improved.
- Project Work: From time to time, usually at the end of the semester students are required to do project work in their respective field to gain industry training and attain the practical skills in the latest field of technology or method.
- Research Work: Some colleges ask students to prepare term papers and produce review articles so that they gain skills of research writing and know the process involved in the same.
- Dissertation Work: Dissertation is usually done in the last semester and students go for industry training and gain skills which helps them to get jobs and make a career in their respective fields.
