Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it really fascinates me like how it provides meta-college concepts in such cases where education seems mediocre. The faculty-student ratio is 1:35. The faculty is well qualified as well. And the best thing is the exams always happen in accordance with DU's guidelines.

Cluster Innovation Centre - [CIC]: 4 answered questions

Ques
Which one is better, MSIT IPU or DU CIC?

● Top Answer By Tanya Dey on 20 May 21

Ans
One of my friends is currently pursuing B.Tech at CIC DU and he applied for MSIT IPU as well. Firstly CIC is not a college and more of an Innovation Centre or Entrepreneurship Cell whereas MSIT is a college that uses the same mechanism procedure.  A brief overview of both institutions are tabulated below: Categories MIST IPU DU CIC Course Fee 4.69 lakh 40,000 Placement Percentage 70% 30% Highest CTC 8-10 LPA - Average CTC 6-7 LPA 13-15 LPA The difference lies in the approach of how they educate and guide students.  CIC DU being an innovation hub is focused on different aspects of research, startups, and the linkage to the real-life aspects of the problem and their suitable solution.  It mainly focuses on the practical aspect and encourages knowledge to be used in daily tasks.  They have world-class labs which are better than almost any college. It has a well-developed Robotics lab with 3D printing which stands out.  There is continuous funding from Delhi University for all the research work, startups, projects, and everything.  During summers compulsory internships are said to be done so as to give better exposure to the students for the lying problems.  When compared to other colleges, the syllabus is a lot more than normal colleges. Students have the task of at least 6 projects per semester with learning more than 5 languages and different simulations at a time like Scilab, Matlab, C++, etc.  CIC might not have a placement cell that backs you up with projects and careers but if you work hard independently there, you can definitely secure a job.

Ques
Should I take a drop for DU CIC B.Tech, I have got B.Com. Hons. at SVC DU. I am from Comm stream so CIC is the only option. I'm very interested in computer science.

● Top Answer By Meera Bose, on 08 Nov 21

Ans
This entirely depends on your preference. If you are interested in Computer Science then your goal should not only be CIC.  You can get into IIT, NIT, BITS, etc. which are also excellent in terms of CS. So, make your goal clear, as college is not the factor. Do not take a drop for just a college, take it only for CS, and no matter the institute, work hard to succeed in it. If your interest lies in CIC then you should continue it. But keep in mind that you are from a commerce background, so it will not be easy for you to compete with other students of science background. SVC is one of the best colleges of DU and your course is the most popular among students, so if you think to pursue your career further in commerce, SVC is really a good option.

Ques
How good are the placements at Cluster Innovation Center DU?

● Top Answer By Pranjal Tiwari on 06 Oct 22

Ans
As much as I could gather information from a friend studying in Cluster Innovation Center, it is apparent that the on-campus placement cell is not effective enough to get every student placed in a good company with a better salary. The administration does not invite enough companies. The faculty emphasizes innovation over students chasing after corporate careers. Thus, the placement rates on campus are low. CIC, however, offers two potential advantages. Its large batch sizes and robust network. According to government norms and regulations, there are only 40 students permitted into it. Therefore, everyone is engaged in useful endeavors. This college's alumni are forming a powerful network. The majority of them have good jobs or are enrolled in college. Students have achieved success in math, management studies, coding, and even in starting respectable businesses of their own. Few students succeed in GSoC each year.

Ques
Highest and average package?

● Top Answer By Tanya Dey on 10 May 22

Ans
Students of Cluster Innovation Center usually get an average salary package of around INR 30,000 - 40,000. The highest salary package received by the students in recent years was INR 31 LPA. The institute doesn’t have a placement cell but there is an industry outreach cell, which is managed by the students.
