Course Curriculum Overview:

Honesty, because I have a strong interest in political science and want it as my optional subject in upsc. The faculty is very average neither good nor bad not very sure about the ratio but I think it will be 1:50 as I told the quality is much average, and some teachers are very specialized and just perfect but a few teachers are not well, not only in my college or faculty but on the whole du there is lots of irregularity of teachers and students. there is 3 or 4 year of the course(depending on your will) and every year there are 2 semesters. I think it's very easy to pass the semester despite a lengthy syllabus because professors themselves don't want any student to fail.

The teaching style is needed to be improved because they are from our (2 out of 4) generation. It will come with time. Term exams are conducted according to the academic plan. So we don't face many problems while writing papers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose B.Com because this college is well known for its commerce facility as I have researched before applying to this college. The student ratio is also normal that is boys are more than girls but there is not so much difference. Though till now I am a first-year student due to corona the studies are being held online so there were certain problems regarding internet connection etc. but the teachers are nice and supportive and well knowledgeable but sometimes there were no updates according to the class it happens frequently but it's understandable. So now I have done my 5th-semester exams and the questions were pretty hard and we have to write so much for a question.

Ques
Which DU college is better: Deshbandhu, Satyawati, Motilal Nehru or Zakir Husain?

● Top Answer By Shaurya Sengupta on 28 Dec 21

Ans
Among the four colleges it is recommended you go for Motilal Nehru College as it is much better in all aspects than the others mentioned. The whole campus is wifi enabled.  The computer lab has more than 100 computers and is well updated with all the necessary softwares. Hostel facilities are also available including basic amenities.  The sports ground is huge, the cultural team actively participates in singing, dancing and drama.  The Library has all books related to your course, Book bank is also there to take books for the whole year without paying a single penny.  Canteen is located at the end of the college which provides healthy and affordable meals. Motilal is the second best college of South Campus after Shri Venkiteshwara and it boasts its infrastructure having the biggest library in the entire Delhi University. The history department is the best in Motilal.

Ques
Which one is better for English Hons Shyam Lal College or Satyawati College?

● Top Answer By Nirali Shukla on 01 Oct 21

Ans
My cousin sister recently graduated from Satyawati College with her English (Hons). To be precise, the experience wasn’t as pleasant as she expected. Here are some crucial insights regarding the college and faculty according to her first-hand experience. The faculty is not up to the mark due to the overwhelming amount of politics among themselves.  The cold war between the right and left-wing politics creates tension and fights between them. There have been instances when the faculty is too careless to even come to class. Instead, you might be marked absent for attendance, which is unacceptable. Once my sister submitted her assignment on time but it got lost due to the faculty’s carelessness.  To make matters worse, she was marked 0 for that assignment.  Later she found out they usually do that to students who call them out on their insincerity. Categories Shyam Lal College Satyawati College Course Fee 29.75 - 52.35 K 22.96 - 52.32 K Highest CTC 5.5 LPA 3.4 LPA Average CTC 2.5 LPA 1.5 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, HP, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc. KAN Universal Private Limited, Signori Armadio, Infosys, Deloitte, etc. However, one of her friends did her English (Hons.) from Shyamlal College which turned out to be quite well and continued to go for higher studies in the same. But due to my sister’s awful experience at Satyawati, she eventually lost interest in the subject. Moreover, before taking admission into any DU college you must do thorough research on its faculty. Some colleges have really awful faculty which plays a huge role in your career.

Ques
Which is the better option between Shivaji College (BMS) or Satyawati College (B.Com Honours)?

● Top Answer By Puja Verma on 17 Jan 22

Ans
It’s difficult to choose between these two choices, as the courses mentioned in the question are different. Between B.Com and BMS, the former offer better scope comparably. BMS will be good for you if you want a career in Management.  Doing a BMS degree from Shivaji College will be comparably better because of the following reasons.  BMS offers practical exposure rather than theoretical knowledge. BMS offers more placement opportunities. As it has more demand in the corporate world.  Shivaji College is better than Satyawati.  Although you should keep in mind that B.Com (Hons) gives basic knowledge regarding all fields of the corporate world i.e. Accountancy, Management, Statistics, Law, etc.
