the eligibility of the course was probably English + GT, i am not sure you can search it up on google. cuet samarth .in is the website where you fill out the application form, the fees and then you also get allotted your college through the same. you are required to give the CUET exam, which is on moderate to high level. prepare for it rigorously if you want to get into an A++++ grade college.
i like the curriculum that the university of delhi has chosen for us students, it is really interesting and the literature is very fun to read. i personally love the course and the way my teachers teach me. the curriculum is comprehensive and i feel it is important to be read. other readings and help books can also be found in the college library and the xerox shop inside the college.
i am only in the first year and i am not much aware about the internship opportunities availabe in my college. but the training and the placement cell is very active and holds events very frequently in the college where they help you grab an opportunity for internships with top companies.
it is something around 8-9k yearly, (exam fees excluded which is around 1500) i feel the fee is really adequate and you also get concessions if you belong from the reserved quotas, there is no management quota since it is a government university. you can not buy your seat in.
the campus life is also fine as such. diwali fest, navratri fest, freshers, farewells are all done very nicely. books are very easy to access through any local book shop in kamla nagar or even online on amazon or the websites of the publishers. sports are also a very huge part of the college, basketball court, football, cricket, kho kho, kabbadi, badminton, hockey, yoga, NCC, all are part of the college. societies like NSS, and many more for student welfare are also there.
faculty is nice and supportive as i said they are friendly and ready to help you, in times of need. i really like all the teachers, they are very easy to speak to and can really make you feel very welcomed in the college and can also build up interest about the course and subjects. most of the teachers are very polite and friendly to the students, giving them a space to be able to talk freely and have a cool informal respectful relationship where they could ask their doubts fearlessly
i really feel that the curriculum of the course is pretty relevance. i personally think that literature students really should study this very portion. it could have been more comprehensive since they have really cut down atleast 10-15% course they used to teach about a decade ago.
There are placement cell in our college that is really active but that also depends from course to course not all The courses have placements. But recently internship/research work/community outreach options have been given to us instead of SEC.
As my course is SOCIOLOGY HONOURS this course needs a lot of field work which is not properly conducted by the college and i think that should be changed but still because of the professors it becomes easy to make the most out of the disciplines that you are choosing.
Studying Philosophy at Kamala Nehru College is great for learning, but it doesn't lead to a job right after graduation. It's perfect for those who want to study further or pursue a career they're passionate about. Scope for improvement: - Help students explore career options - Provide internships for practical experience - Connect students with professionals in related fields
Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University, does not offer campus placements for Philosophy (Hons) students. However, the college provides strong employability support through workshops, internships, and career counseling. Many students pursue higher studies or careers in academia, research, publishing, or civil services. My plan after completing the degree is to pursue a master's in philosophy to deepen my knowledge and improve my career prospects. The college's emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills equips us well for various professional paths.
