I chose this course as I was interested in game development and I wanted to learn coding. All the teaching faculty in the college have PhD degree in their respective subjects. Teaching method can be improved as they just read pdf rather than make the class interesting. Term exams take place every two months and there are only two term exams which are mid sem and end sem. Difficulty of exams is moderate.
Admission process was done without any problems. Since I have pwd(person with disability) reservation I was given a separate room in the hostel to stay. You need to score atleast 85 percentile in JEE mains to secure CSE in IIIT Dharwad.
Read Full ReviewI have started learning some programming courses in my 12 class itself. I know c language and C++. so I decided to take a CSE course at this college. here there are 140 students out of which there are 12 girls and the remaining are boys. faculty is very good.
The admission process was carried out online. I wrote JEE when I was in 12 class. I didn't get any reservations. you can visit the josaa website in order to apply for the exam. application fee cost is around 500.

I appeared for the JEE entrance exam where I got a rank of 50k and got admission to the ECE branch in IIIIt Dharwad. i belong to the general category. application fees are 30k of which 20k is refundable. fees are more than expected of this college according to the facilities provided.

One can take admission to this college by giving jee mains and getting a suitable rank in accordance with the cutoff, you can write your jee main in your 12th, and one year after the 12th, after the entrance exam there will be two counseling josaa and csab after those counseling you get seat according to your preference, there are reserved seat in every such institutions and there is some reserved seat for girls also, Reservation is based on your category.

We have to clear the entrance exam mains and it is conducted immediately after intermediate and the eligibility for writing the exam is set by josaa council after clearing the entrance, counseling process will be started and according to our preferences they will allot the seat, all the information will be available on josaa website.

To join the IIIT ,NIT, GFTI you have to take an entrance exam whose name is JEE MAIN. when you qualify for that exam there is a cut off depending on the college college when you cross the cut off criteria you will get a college based on your performance and your choice list There is also reservation benefits for those students who belong to lower category (SC,ST,OBC,EWS) and there is also a reservation for girls students if any students basically girls have a very good chance to join because in engineering colleges number of girls students are very less that why colleges have a criteria that is minimum 30 or 40 percent girls admission is required that depends on college after when you cleared the jee main exam and when you clear the category wise cutoff there is a exam which is JEE ADVANCE when you cleared this exam you will get a IIT(Indian institute of technology)college and i think that you all know the benefits of being a part of IIT NIT IT these colleges are well known.
Read Full ReviewStudents in 4th year are eligible for campus placements. Here our college does not have good placements and the companies that visit are also not that great. Students are often stressed about it because of poor management from the placement cell. Our college website says 90 percent of students are placed but reality says otherwise. I plan to go abroad just like every other Indian.
To get into IIITDWD, one without a reservation needs to clear jee mains with a minimum percentile of 94. For cse branch percentile is 95. U get to choose through Jossa counseling. Once you are allotted the college, you get to report online through which the admission process is completed. Further instructions will be given by the college on the date of reporting at college all.

They have done their PhDs from various NITs but teaching is not that effective. There are 64 boys and 6 girls in the CSE branch. There are two exams like mid sem and end sem. They are not that difficult to pass
I have applied for the JEE examination and got 96.75 percentile. Based on that my all-India rank was given and based on the cut-off for that college I got admission through jossa counselling. I didn't get any reservation benefits since I am from the general category.
Read Full ReviewStudents are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. Many companies like Amazon, cognizant, Infosys, tcs, etc. come to college. Last year because of the recession the placement percentage was 70 percent. I am planning to go for higher studies or an MBA or UPSC.
In this college, you can get admission only via josaa or csab. For that, you have to give JEE mains. There is no management quota or home state quota. Also, there is no female reservation in this college.
Read Full ReviewFrom the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements, companies like Wipro, Goldman Sachs, Amazon and many more visited the college and I don't have accurate information about it as seniors have not discussed much about it, The Highest package till now is 35lpa which was offered by Amazon and average is 12lpa. Around 90% of students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is for higher education.
The eligibility criteria for this course is to score more than 60% in the 12th boards and you need to clear JEE mains entrance exam with more than 95 percentile. Anyone can apply for the JEE mains entrance exam through the official website of NTA, once you are eligible for this course you have to fill out the jossa counseling application form and they will allow you the college you want according to your rank, once you get allotted IIIT Dharwad college then you have to go to official website of IIIT Dharwad college and fill the admission form and submit jossa allotment letter which you got from Jossa

According to most reviews, students who are interested in getting into an institute with the IIIT tag can join IIIT Dharwad. There are several positives and negatives about the institute, and a brief overview of them is listed below.
- The teachers in IIIT Dharwad mostly have average dedication towards the course they are teaching. There are rumors about teachers discriminating among students, and skipping important topics. Students with biology in school really find it difficult to learn coding with this kind of teaching.
- The laboratories in the institute are yet of average infrastructure. Lab assistants and teachers are not supportive. If you speak Kannada, your life at the campus will be easier. Only the professional communication lab is worth attending.
- There is a strict system of 85% attendance.
- The atmosphere inside the campus is not very positive for studying. There is no permanent campus. Classes are held in an IT park, 3.5 km away from hostels and PGs.
- Every aspect, from internships to placements, needs to be taken care of by you.
- The engineering life is not worth studying in this institute. No proper fests are organized, and only two clubs are properly established, technical and e-cell. There is a technical fest organized entirely by students but did not receive appreciation from the teachers.
- Students get stressed both mentally and physically, studying in IIIT Dharwad. Even the brand name does no good for the advancement of students.
If you are passionate about engineering, it will be better not to choose this institute.

- The IIITs provide an excellent structured course, which has a unique syllabus and follows the recent technologies and requirements. They are somewhat ahead in advanced concepts, compared to other basic degree courses.
- The choice of an institute depends on your interest. So, review the course structure carefully before choosing the institute.
So, before choosing the institute, do thorough research regarding the course overview, opportunities, faculties, etc, before getting into the institute.
IIIT Dharwad is a newly established institute and it will be better not to make high expectations from this institute yet. It is running as a temporary campus at IT Park. Still, things have got little changes as it has permanent faculty, sports ground, labs infrastructure, as it got the mentor-like IIIT Bangalore.
You must go for round 2 without any doubt. Because this institute is running in a provisional campus in a free building and the college administration does not have a single penny to pay rent or take a permanent campus. Everything is going on charity in this institute.
Infrastructures, lab facilities, hostels, mess, administration, and most importantly, the placement is lagging; in short, all these are very poor.

Students get extremely worst treatment here, specifically in the hostels, as it has no facilities and the mess is completely pathetic.
Thus, it is requested not to join this institute, as the college environment is impoverished than any other private institute. College administration is totally frustrated and not even able to run the central Government institute.
It is better to select some other private college rather than this IIIT. However, attendance here is very reluctant, which is 85%, but college administration considers the below percentage if the student gives them any excuses.
You should prefer IIIT Kottayam. It has a similar curriculum as IIIT Hyderabad. IIIT Kottayam placements 2022 concluded with the highest CTC of INR 42 LPA. In the last three years, the average CTC of the institute has increased from INR 4 LPA to INR 9.68 LPA. reputed companies such as IBM, L&T, Reliance(JIO), NISSAN, etc. took part in the placement drive.
IIIT Kottayam has a thriving coding culture, almost at par with old IIITs such as IIITA, IIITG, etc. Students of the institute have been performing well in competitive coding forums.
One of my friends studied at IIIT Naya Raipur, so in the following, some points are highlighted considering this institute.
- Growth: Their laboratory infrastructure is well-furnished and provides all the basic facilities to the students, including high-speed internet. The campus is very peaceful and safe. All research projects, workshops, E-cells events and seminars are continuously conducted here. These help this institute to grow quite rapidly.
- Placement: My friend once told me that one of his seniors had secured AIR 11 in GATE; however, he is now pursuing M.Tech studies at Cornell. The achievements of the student’s project have a growing prospect for this institute. As it is guided by IIIT Hyderabad, the median salary is higher than the other institutes of India.

- Atmosphere:There is a quota for the students who come from Chhattisgarh; besides, there is also an NTPC quota. Telugu state students bond with the Telugu squad. Thus, there is a huge diversity in the student’s background.
- Faculty: Director of this institute has a Doctoral Degree (PhD) from Tokyo University. One of the professors, Mr Ramakrishna Bandi, achieved a PhD from IIT Roorkee and followed Post-Doc from IIT Bombay.
- Food: Mess foods here are homelier than the other institutes. It is less oily. However, the good thing is that the mess committee takes the student’s opinion and tries to make food as per their preferences. Thereby, a student can try to be the mess committee member, but it is not compulsory at all; they can be on the side with someone who is already the member.
- Hostel: Hostels here are cleared every day. Students will get a room with a bed, a cupboard, mattress, a desk, a chair, along with all the necessary stuff. Students have to pay meagre maintenance fees for their hostel accommodation. The hostel staff are amicable and provide low-rate laundry services to the students, but the students can also pay to use the washing machines at the shopping complex.
So, it is suggested that you go for IIIT Naya Raipur, because it will provide you with all the necessities required for a student in their daily life.
CSE in IIIT Dharwad is a better option to opt for. As of now, they don't have a permanent campus but they will have their campus soon. See, there are pros and cons of every college/institute. Somewhere you might find one thing and another might be equipped with another better thing. IIIT Dharwad also has some pros and cons.
Cons:
- Don't have their permanent campus as of now and the temporary campus is also not that good.
- You have to pick your peer group very wisely because the type of people you choose will become your peer group.
Pro
- The institute in which you will be studying is of national importance which is controlled by MHRD. It has a good reputation just like any other IITs/NITs.
- You will get the mentorship of some experienced faculties as PhD is mandatory for all the faculties here.
- Dharwad is quite close to Bangalore so you can get good placement opportunities.
- The campus of IIIT Dharwad will be really amazing.
- The facilities like hostel and mess are better in comparison to any other college/institutes.
- If you are a sports lover, you will have many sports facilities like cricket, football, basketball etc.
- And most importantly, you will have the brand name of IIIT which really matters.

My brother chose IIIT Vadodara for his IT and he is full of admiration for the institute. The record of placements of IIIT Vadodara is good and it also offers decent packages to the students.
The coding culture of IIIT Vadodara is also very reputed and the location is also well-liked by the students. Every institute will have its pros and cons so it is entirely up to you. Do not get influenced by the reviews and try to decide on your own. Take advice as well if you want to.
In 2020, around 30 recruiters visited IIIT Vadodara and 102 placement offers were made to the students. The highest package offered was INR 43.5 LPA, the average salary was INR 13 LPA. The top recruiters were ICICI Bank, Mathworks, and Amazon. 16 IT students got placed from IIIT Vadodara got placed in the placements of 2020.
The highest package offered to the students of IIIT Dharwad in 2020 was INR 11 LPA and the average package was INR 7 LPA. The top recruiters are Amazon, Adobe, Samsung, Cognizant, etc.
One of my cousins has recently completed her 1st year in the institute and can present her views better regarding your concern.
The facilities of the hostel are better as opposed to most other IIITs. Some of the amenities that can be availed here are as follows.
- One of many facilities includes having separate bathrooms for 2 students sharing a room, unlike most of the other institutes where students face problems regarding sharing one bathroom for various personal uses.
- The hostels are equipped with CCTV cameras as well.
- There is also a provision of Wi-Fi that generally has a high speed.
- The hostels have sufficient space for playing indoor games.
Subsequently, when talking about the food facilities, IIIT Dharwad follows the menu of IIT Bombay. The food quality you can avail is on an average quite decent. For more information on the facilities, you can refer to their website.
One of my cousins studied at IET DAVV. According to him, it will be better if you choose IET DAVV over IIIT Dharwad for engineering. Here are some reasons behind his choice -
Firstly, anyone in your situation will probably choose IET DAVV as it is situated in Indore. Your transportation and accommodation costs will minimize if you study from your hometown. This is a major advantage for you.
- IET DAVV is a reputed college. Their curriculum is updated meeting industry trends and standards.
- The college has good placement records.
- The students are talented. Also, IET has a happening college life too along with a diverse crowd.
- The faculty at IET DAVV are well experienced and highly qualified.
- IIIT Dharwad is a new institute, with no batch placed yet but there are pre-placement records.
- IIIT Dharwad has no good infrastructure at present. The college does not have a permanent campus.
