Saveetha University is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu state of Southern India. It is a centre of education for multiple disciplines like Medicine, Dental Surgery, Engineering, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Law and Management.

Saveetha University accepts admission for its different courses via different entrance examinations. While admission to most of the courses are done on the basis of national level common entrance examinations, the college also conduct entrance for a few courses.

Saveetha University B.Tech Admission 2023

At undergraduate level, Saveetha University offers BE/B.Tech and BE/B.Tech (Lateral) courses to the students who want to pursue their career in the field of engineering. The duration period for the courses are 4 years and 3 years respectively.

In order to seek admission in the above mentioned courses, the eligible candidates need to appear in Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or Common Entrance Test conducted by the Anna University.

Saveetha University MBBS, BDS and BAMS Admission 2023

At UG level, Saveetha University also offers medical courses like MBBS and BDS. Duration of MBBS is 4.5 years (+1 year for internship), whereas of BDS is 4 years. In the field of Ayurveda, the university also provides BAMS to the eligible students.

Admission in MBBS and BDS is based on the marks scored in the national level entrance exam called NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), which is conducted by CBSE. Application for NEET can be made in its official website

In order to seek admission in BAMS, candidates must have studied and passed 10+2 level or equivalent in relevant discipline.

Saveetha University UG Admission 2023

At undergraduate level, the university offers several more courses with various specializations such as Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Technology for a duration period of 3 years + 1 year for internship, B.Sc in Nursing for 4 years, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) for 4 years. It also offers two courses in the field of Law - B.A.B.L and B.BA.B.L. Duration of both the law courses are 5 years.

Admission in B.Sc and B.PT is done on the basis of marks obtained at 10+2 level. The admission procedure follows “First Come First Served” basis.

To get admission in B.A.B.L and B.BA.BL., eligible candidates need to appear in Saveetha University Law Entrance Examination (SULEE).

Students with CLAT and LSAT scores will be preferred for admission in the law courses

Saveetha University M.Tech Admission 2023

At postgraduate level, the university offers Master of Engineering (M.E.) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) for a duration period of two years. It also offers Integrated ME/M.Tech for 6 years.

To get admission, students must hold B.Tech or B.E. degree in relevant discipline. The final selection is done on the basis of entrance (TANCET / CET) marks conducted by the Anna University & Consortium of Self Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamilnadu.

Students with a valid GATE score can apply for direct admission. Selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in GATE.

Saveetha University PG Medical Admission 2023

The university offers Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery degrees under 13 and 7 different specialization subjects respectively. Each of the courses is offered for a duration of three years. It also provides Doctor of Medicine (DM) for a duration period of 3 years and Integrated MD/MS/M.Sc with Ph.D.

Saveetha University offers B.Ed and M.Ed to the students who want to pursue their career in the field of teaching. The duration period are 2 years and 1 year respectively.

Admission to B.Ed and M.Ed is done on the basis of marks scored in the pre-degree qualification or equivalent. For B.Ed, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline and for M.Ed the candidates must be B.Ed graduate.

At postgraduate level, courses like MBA, M.Sc (Faculty of Medicine) and Integrated M.Sc (Medical with Ph.D) are also offered to the students who want to pursue their career in administration and medical science. The duration period for MBA is 2 years, and for M.Sc and Integrated M.Sc are 3 years. Duration period for M.Sc in Nursing is 1 year.

To get admission in MBA, eligible candidates need to appear in Management Aptitude Test (MAT) or TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Anna University.

Apart from undergraduate and postgraduate courses, Saveetha University also offers Ph.D. and Fellowship courses to the students who do research in the field of Medical Science.

Ph.D. course is offered under five major specializations such as Medical, Dental, Nursing, Engineering and Physiotherapy. Fellowship course is offered under Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology.

Saveetha University has other schools. It has two engineering colleges, a medical college, dental college, management school, etc. Saveetha Engineering College is affiliated with Anna University. The college has a good infrastructure. The faculty team is very understanding, the atmosphere is strict and the college has good transport facilities in and around campus. Whereas Saveeta School of Engineering is a private college affiliated with Saveeta University. You will find a lot of Andra students on campus. The college is strict and has good facilities like classes with smart boards, wifi, etc. Here’s a brief overview of the two institutes. Parameters Saveetha Engineering College Saveeta School of Engineering Average CTC 3 LPA 3.6 LPA Highest CTC 7.50 LPA - Multinational companies like Wipro, IBM, Capgemini, Accenture, Zoho, Amazon, Hyundai, Igate, HCL, Dell, Shri Ram Group, Virtusa, etc visit the campuses for placement drive. As Saveetha Engineering college is affiliated with Anna University, it is a good option and the degree has more value.

A few of my friends graduated from Saveetha University and Vel Tech University and based on their experience I will say Saveetha University is better than the Vel Tech engineering college. Saveetha University is the best because the college environment is excellent and has good faculty, good communications skills trainers. The college infrastructure is good with more labs, good teaching, and a friendly environment. The teaching methodology employed is quite good. There are only smart board classes. Placements are way better at Saveetha University as compared to Val Tech. According to the recent placement trends around 91% of students get placed from Saveetha University. Saveetha University is overall a better choice in terms of infrastructure, faculties, and placements.

There are two colleges that fall under Saveetha University- Saveetha School of Engineering (Deemed institute) and Saveetha Engineering College (affiliated with Anna University). In Saveetha Engineering College, admission is done through Anna University counseling. Considering you are from Telangana, the points below give a brief overview of Saveetha School of Engineering (SSE) and its key highlights. Saveetha University is one of the best private universities in Chennai city, providing an interesting college life. It offers a great package of studies mixed with a great focus on research and journal publishing. In SSE, you can start doing mini projects even from your second semester itself, gaining knowledge from the teaching and technical staff. Being a deemed university, there is no much pressure in subjects and semester exams. CSE in Saveetha School of Engineering is a decent branch if you are interested in computer languages and coding. The staffs of SSE are friendly with the students, making their four years of engineering pass like an exciting ride. The placements of both institutes under Saveetha University are common for most companies. So, there is a lot of competition in it among students. 60-70% of students in SSE are from the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
